Remarks
Candidates who secured an aggregate of 50% in science and 50% in maths in intermediate science from CBSE/ICSE/JAC or any other recognized board are eligible. Application forms, fees as well as dates are provided at the official website of the SXCRAN. College follows the reservation policy of the state. However being a religious minority institution, it admits students from Christian Community first. The remaining seats are filled according to the reservation policy of the state.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because the knowledge which we gain in Information Technology is in greater demand and 70% placements opportunities are here for computer students. Besides these, I have an interest in computers. There are 50-60 students at each batch and the faculty members are very helpful and really knowledgeable. All the faculty members are of MCA/MTech/Ph.D. Exams are taken every 6 months that is end semester, meanwhile, mid sem are also taken. 1-2 months are enough for exam preparation.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are less as compared to placement opportunities. Companies like BFactory, Wipro, and others come here for internships and training. They offer part-time as well as full-time also.
Placement Experience
From semester 5 campus placements start. Many MNCs come to this college including SAP, Deloitte, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Capgemini, Cognizant, LTI, etc. Deloitte gives the highest package but still, it is service-based. Every year around 60-7-% of students get placed in the computer department. Talking about me, either I will go for higher studies or Deloitte.
Fees and Financial Aid
In the BSc IT department, around Rs.54000 is the amount per year and one can submit it in installments. There are scholarships also in this college. Eligible students for scholarships are of category OBC/SC/ST. General category students are not eligible here.
Campus Life
Annual fest generally celebrated in February. Each department have their own library and a central library is also there which is open for every department. There are several places to chill inside the campus. There are canteens, gym, basketball ground, football ground and many more. Also, there are many clubs for students like NSS, Rotaract Club, etc.
