Remarks
There are 3 ways by which a student can take admission 1.UPSEE. 2.On the basis of JEE - Mains score. 3.Direct Admission Application form for the direct admission is available in the college campus. I have given UPSEE entrance exam and scored 21k (General rank) and 4k(General-EWS rank) . Then I come to know about FW (Fee waiver) reserved seats which is 3% of total intake in every branch. Then I applied for the FW seats and get admission in ECE branch in NIET.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose the ECE course because I didn't get the CS branch as it was my first priority as you know very well about the demands and opportunities present in that course in the upcoming future. My second priority was ECE, so I choose it because it is a type of flexible course in which you can opt for core jobs as well as non-core jobs. (eg.Software development) Faculty -Student ratio is good in NIET. Faculty members includes HOD, Deputy HOD, Head - coordinator for each section of the branch, 3 teachers per subject. Teachers are qualified as well as helpful. My HOD have done P.H.D and some teachers are well qualified from some NITs. Teaching methods are good including blackboard, projector, whiteboard, labs, etc. The term exams are timely conducted and it is easy to pass if study properly.
Internships Opportunities
If we talk about internships then something is not there what you have expected. Still, there are some opportunities but in a limited amount. It totally depends upon the skills and capability of a student. Although, my college has done collaboration of 5 years with Wipro. So you can expect some work. Also, there are many innovation labs for work on innovative ideas.
Placement Experience
The percentage of students placed in my course i.e. ECE branch is nearly about 80 to 90 percent every year since the last few years. The highest package in my course is about 12 lakhs per annum as I come to know about this year. The average Package offered is nearly 3.5 Lpa -5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Capgemini, Accenture, Wipro, TCS, etc. If we talk about internships, then it totally depends upon skills and capability of a student and it varies accordingly. I don't know the actual percentage if interns but defenitely there are opportunities. Students become eligible for campus placement from 3rd year onwards. As my course is ECE, therefore most of the companies allow students to sit for the on-campus placement drive whether it is a software or hardware company. You can become an Analog engineer, VLSI engineer, software development engineer, etc according to your skills and interests. My plan after getting the degree is to get placement in a renowned company.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees structure is different for 1st year and the rest years. In 1st year, it is most i.e 1.5 lakh (approx.). From next year onwards, it is 1.2 lakh (approx.). Some scholarships are given to the topmost performing students of each branch. Financial Assistance is also provided for weaker sections and girls. On-campus jobs are also provided in the college.
Campus Life
Some of the fest organized in the college includes Abhuday(for the 1st year students), Founder's Day (on the occasion of the foundation of the college), etc. Regular tech fests (eg. Coding competition etc. ) are also organized. All types of books and journals are available in the library. Classrooms and labs are also well equipped and maintained. There is not much to say about Sports and extracurricular activities. It is organized but not in proper and regular intervals. Although there are different clubs for it. There is no such type of social group or website but some clubs are there for sports, extracurricular activities, technical activities, etc.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are overall good in 1st year. The 1st year campus (New NIET) is separated from the rest of the year campus (Old NIET). There are 2 hostels in the 1st year, both are good. All required facility for a student to study is provided including a WI-Fi facility. Quality of the meal is quite good in 1st-year hostel but average from 2nd year onwards hostels. Different meals are provided on different dates. The registration process of hostels can be done easily through the college. Affordability of the Hostel includes 3 seaters, 2 seater, and single seater room, depending on price.
Other Applied Colleges
Not any specific college but NITs. | B. Tech.
I didn't get the desired branch of the course.
