Akhil's Review On GITAM, Hyderabad

College is good irrespective of fee, and lab facilities so I want to conclude saying about my GITAM University is, that university from where I perused my B.Tech degree.

I took GAT (GITAM Admission Test) for the entrance into this university.I scored 8040 rank in open category. Basically I'm a such kind of guy who enjoys working/interacting with mechanical parts of an vehicle (automobile/ aircrafts), especially in aero field we learn the mechanism of flight (Excitement behind how a body flies in air without flapping any of its body parts like a bird). This interest made me opt Aeronautical Engineering stream.

Course structure is defined for 4 years and 2 semesters per year.Each semester consists of 6 subjects and 3 labs excluding final year. We seem to observe 5 subjects with a lab in final year 1st semester followed by 4 subjects and a lab in succeeding semester of final year. Students will be give chance of opting electives (it is any subject for elective1 among 3 subjects and similar for elective2 and elective3 of students choice) in both of final year semesters.

Yes they do provide internship stipend is probably decided upon the students caliber and area of interest for internship.

Our University has 80% of its students placed in many top MNCs.Amazon, Musigma, Cyient, Tata Advanced System, Hitachi, Virtusa, Myntrah Energy Ltd,Tech Mahindra, TCS, L&T construction Ltd, NTT Data, etc., and many more companies (>70) have visited our campus for placement drive.Highest package offered was 18 lac/annum by Amazon and it recruited 3 students with 18, 15 and 12 lac/annum respectively. Tech Mahindra, NTT data are mass recruiters with 133, 66 students, offering about 3.15 and 3 lac/annum package respectively.

Very expensive about 2.5lac/annum for all branches except aeronautical and it's 3lac/annum for aero. Every year fees will be increased of about 15% of previous year fee for all the branches. Irrespective of no special treatment and labs for aero field its of very high fee structure of 3lac/annum.

Education Loan will be provided by any bank. Any nationalised Bank will provide the loan. Loan amount includes tution fee, transportation fee/Hostel fee. So nothing to be paid by the students parents/guardian.

Labs are not at all there for aeronautical stream (just 2 labs are established where equipments doesn't work). For other branches labs are ok, average for conducting sports we have big lands but not play grounds. Students just play in those grounds that way so this is the main reason our university doesn't conduct any inter college sports meet.

Good facilities in hostel, with average food,Good facilities in hostel, with average wifi, Good facilities in hostel with power. No play ground facility, but gym is available where extra charges are posed on every student. This is the rating given to our GITAM University for its hostel facilities and mess food.

Yes helpful, because juniors will max follow seniors how seniors go with their career the same is reflected for the juniours too. Mostly students go to higher studies and even for jobs to its all up to the students wish and his/her interest.

Per year 2 semesters graded by GPA for each sem, and CGPA is given for every year. Each sem has 3 mid exams where best of 2 mids are taken into consideration. Internals= 2 mids (30marks) + 10marks of lectures choice. External (Sem exam)= 60 marks.So total its for 100 marks for each subject. Passing mark is 16/40 for internals and 24/100 for externals.

All the teaching Faculty are qualified from prestigious institute of India ( IIT's, IISC's, NIT's) and evn post graduates from foreign Universities. And each faculty is assigned with a particular subject he/she is specialized in. So faculty is OK.We can be in contact with any faculty through phone or by emails even. All the faculty description is being clearly mentioned in the university website for any quires.
