Remarks
You will get the application form on the Directorate of medical education Assam website or offline in the office of DME. You have to fill it up, have to take some signatures, and submit it during the counseling process, the application fee is less than 1000 and the application date is given within a month of advertisement. Everyone has to go through the counseling process to get an admission If you have any reservation quota such as OBC, SC, ST, EWS you can apply for that. If you have an OBC caste certificate you can get the benefit of the OBC quota. You have to submit your parent's income certificate also.
Course Curriculum Overview
I had some exposure to hospitals during my childhood and I develop an interest to be a part of this profession. The faculty is well qualified and they are best in their respective domains. The student-teacher ratio is good, we have small groups teaching (SGT) classes where 10-15 students are allotted to a faculty where interactive classes are taken, and doubt in that topic is solved there. The faculty are well trained and their teaching technique is good. They take interacting classes and seminars where students are given the opportunity to present their presentation and any doubt on that topic is cleared. Assessments are taken after a chapter or system is finished, every week or two a class assessment is taken.
Internships Opportunities
After completion of the UG course, we are provided with a one-year internship with a stipend added. Under internship, we head to the different departments in the hospital viz. Surgery, Orthopaedics, Medicine, Gynecology, Pediatrics, Dermatology, etc It is the most hectic but fascinating time of mbbs. For the first time you get to treat patients and you get your first salary. After the internship, we have to go for rural service for one year.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for our college are around 30k for the first year and 10 k for the next subsequent years. Compare to private medical College, the fees of our college is very less. Fees are affordable for all the students. We also have to pay extra money for books, notebooks, practical logbooks. The total cost of the entire course is around 15lakh.
Campus Life
The annual fest is conducted in March. Books and journals are available in the library. The classrooms have good desks and benches and a projector through which digital education is delivered. College Week is held once during which various sports games are played. The campus of our college is very much attractive and beautiful.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are very much clean and hygienic facilities provided in the room- Bed, Table, Chair, Wardrobe, 24hr free Electricity. The meal is decent with such a low price. The menu includes Fish, Egg, Chicken and vegetables along with sabzi and dal. Registration is done while college admission. The fees for the hostel is very much feasible for everyone.
