HBTU's Intership Goals

I reserved my seat at HBTU in the 3rd round of HBTU's counseling through JEE Mains rank. I got B.tech in Leather Engineering but later through internal sliding, I was upgraded to mechanical Engineering with my OBC quota.

All the faculty members are well educated most of them had done their Ph.d/M.tech from IIT'sNITs. The curriculum is good. In my branch, the sex ratio is 1:15. I did choose mechanical as I was interested in physics.

Training and Placement Cell of the University in coordination with all the Schools of the University organizes finishing schools, mock interviews, GDs, expert lectures, etc. throughout the year. Dean, Planning and Resource Generation of this University is responsible for Training the T&P Placement Cell of the University. Dean, Planning and Resource Generation is assisted by two Placement Coordinators and Departmental Placement Coordinators. A separate dedicated building equipped with all state-of-the-art facilities and other infrastructure is being conducted.

Harcourt Butler Technical University (HBTU), Kanpur has an active placement cell. The institute successfully conducted its 2021 placement drive. The students achieved good CTC packages during HBTU Placements 2021. 63.61% of the total students in the participating batch were placed during the placement drive. A total of 437 students were eligible to participate in the placement process. They received 278 placement offers from the recruiting companies. The interim report of HBTU Placements 2021 is released. According to the report, the students received the highest CTC of INR 43.5 LPA. The average CTC stood at INR 6.46 LPA. Every year, recruiters like ITC, Dabur, IBM, HSBC, Berger Paints, Bharat Petroleum, Finserv, British Paints, etc participate in the HBTU Placements.

Total fees for the year are 135000. 75000 tuition fees and 60000 for curriculum and other activities. I got a U.P Scholarship aid of 54500 as my financial background is not stable. HBTU'S fees have been increased drastically because it has become an autonomous University from an institution.

I have been a hostelite for nearly a year now and have collected a huge sack full of memories. There are many more experiences that I will get to encounter, but some of them are here; Hostel life is very different from staying at home, away from parents, out of your comfort zone, and most importantly it teaches you to be independent, gives you a hand full of liberty as far as you don't break the hostel rules. Yes! Hostels are strict in that way, your time, attendance at night, and filling out a night forms are all very important.

HBTU has hostels for freshers on the East campus ( academic Campus), Though the condition of hostels is not very good. The main advantage of hostels is they are just a few minutes' walk away from college. Two boys hostels i.e. LV NEW and LV OLD. I think lv new is in better living conditions than old one. Rooms are triple seated and single-seated in lv new. In LV old, rooms are double seated and triple seated. A separate Badminton court and volleyball court are there for hostellers. For girls, a well-maintained hostel called GH-3 is located near the central library. Moreover, one proper Badminton court and TT is available for interested players.
