The IIIT Jabalpur saga

IIIT Jabalpur gives admission on the basis of jee mains scores and the seat is provided by counseling in jossa and csab rounds, eligibility is 75% marks in jee mains which were relieved in the phase of covid but were there at my time, if we get the seat and we freeze it we have to pay seat acquirement fees and then rest of the fees at the admission time, documents like mark sheet, character certificate, transfer certificate, aadhar card and more are required at the time of admission, reservation is present on the basis of caste and income basis as present in jee exam, the details of admission, application and more are all provided on the college's official website. I don't find any problem with the admission process, the college helps and supports with all doubts and necessary actions were taken at covid times.

The course curriculum is good and well structured and aa lot of practical and project-based knowledge is provided, faculty are over-all good, some are very good and few averages, one great thing about teachers here is that they are highly qualified from great colleges all around the world, MTech and Ph.D. students are allotted as teaching assistants, exams are taken in structural manner and marks are well divided, the teacher's are very much reachable, problem-solving sessions are also held in the first year to help students get familiar with the college environment. Girls to boys Ratio in the engineering courses is around 4:10. It is not very difficult to pass the exams if the student pays attention, exams are very mannered and in such a manner that cheating does not happen.

Internship opportunities are provided in the fourth year of college by the companies such as Amazon, slice, Uber, Myntra, and more. The students are selected in these by resume shortlisting and various Technical rounds. As the coding culture of college is very good students are selected in various other scholarships too such as step intern by Google, GSoC, research intern by Goldman Sachs, and then the seniors guide the juniors for getting internships. The college also provides noc for all internships to students.

The placements are good and are getting very better after the new placement officer was allotted, this year the highest package of 44 LPA was offered to 11 students by Amazon and this was offered as PPO after their internships, multiple MNCs such as Myntra (15lpa), Uber (24lpa), slice and more came to college for recruitment, the average package stayed 16lpa for BTech cse , 12 for ece and 10 for SM and mechanical, the median package is around 10 LPA. Around 90% of students get placed from college and the rest opt for higher studies and research. Classes for aptitude, soft skills, and placement preparation are provided by the college. I plan on getting a good package in my fourth year and then doing MBA afterward. More than 30 companies visited the college this year and the number is getting higher every year.

The fee structure is reasonable and a proper description of the fee structure is provided at the start of each semester. Various scholarships from central and state governments are applicable and can easily be taken by the required students, the college helps students in getting scholarships such as mcm, companies for internships and placements come to college in the fourth year, companies such as Amazon, Paytm, Uber, Myntra, Atlassian and more come to college, students also do multiple scholarships themselves and are selected in good programs such as Google step intern, gsoc and more.

The campus is vast and filled with greenery, the campus is built near the dumma lake, social life is very good here, engineering and design students live in harmony and have fun, infrastructure is very good, student activity center, open-air theatre, playgrounds, canteen, and shops are present in the college, inter iiit sports tournament gusto is held in the college, multiple groups for all types of activities are present and pretty active. Classes are held in auditoriums which are high in class and same as the ones in which Ted talks are held, websites for all groups such as programming, cultural groups are active and run by students, the programming club, drama club, and literary club organize events monthly in the online mode also, the Library is vast and a lot of books on academics and extra are also present and a reading room is also available beside the library.

Hostels are good, the internet facility is very good and the speed stays above 500mbps through LAN wire and 100mbps for wifi, water, and electricity backup facilities are good, there is a warden and 2-3 guards in each hostel and a hostel in charge too, canteens, playroom, the reading room is present in each hostel, there are separate hostel for girls and married students. The security is very good in hostels. There are a total of 9 hostels in the college. Boys and girls of BTech are provided with 3 seater room. Girls used to get single rooms before but after a new hostel was built for them, they also get 3 seater rooms. Washrooms are common and that makes a little bit of a problem rest all is good.
