Great academics but poor infrastructure

Admission to the college is given by the M.P. government e-counseling portal named e Pravesh. Students must apply on this portal so as to get admission to colleges of M.P.Students are required to fill desired college and course and then according to marks obtained in class 12th, colleges are allotted. I had filled govt. Holkar science college and thus I get admission in this college.

I was looking to pursue research in the physics field, thus I choose BSc physics. The faculty of the college is excellent. The faculty-student ratio is nearly 1:40. The minimum qualification for faculty in the college is Ph.D. in the relevant subject. The teacher teaches very well and most of the topics are taught by doing practicals. My course is yearly based so final exams happen once a year. although the monthly test is taken. If we do study daily then it's not so difficult to pass the exam.

College provides internship opportunities to students who are interested in it. cosmology, relative gravitation, nuclear physics, surface study, semiconductor technologies are some topics in which a student can intern.

the placements of the college are average. Not so high and not so low. When students are in the final semester they are eligible for placement. Many companies like Amazon, Hitachi, Immersive Infotech, Yash technologies, Cis visit the campus The highest package offered is 6 lakhs per annum to a student of BCA. Nearly 40% of students get placement from the college. after getting this degree I am looking to pursue a master's and ph.d in physics.

The fees structure is simple.8400 rs for a year and 2600 rs for the exam.As it is an autonomous government institute fees structure is the same for the last 3 years. I was given Mukhyamantri Medhavi Vidhyarti yojana.In this scheme exam and tuition fee is exempted. As I am still in my 2 nd year, I haven't got any job.

Each year an annual fest is organized in college .it is organized in the month of June. Many cultural programme are held in this fest. The library contains thousands of books related to every course. All the famous newspapers and magazines are available in the library. The classroom is well furnished and contains desks. digital boards are available in the classroom. Free wifi is also available. College also has grounds for both indoor and outdoor games. but the ground is not maintained in a good condition. Students run a group named AKHIL BHARTIYA VIDHYARTI SANGH. It is a group that raises the voice of students in front of administration.

Although everything in college is fine hostels of college are in poor condition. As the college was built in 1891, the infrastructure of the hostels is not in a good condition. meal served in the hostels is average. The registration process is quite simple. you can register for a hostel in the office situated in front of the hostels. But I will prefer people to live in a rented room instead of living in these poor hostels. you can easily find a room for rent in the nearby locality i.e. the Bhawarkua area.
