I secured a rank within top 100 in WBJEE to qualify for entry into this medical college. Since this is the topmost college, all other options were open to me.

Although the teaching staff are transferable, this college bears a tradition and heritage and is one of its kind. MBBS from this college is not only prestigious, the experience is entirely different from what you would otherwise have elsewhere.

Internship period is hectic. But nevertheless, you get to learn a lot. The stipend is at par with the standard for the state and gets revised from time to time.

Doctors do not need the so called job placements. While some opt for house-staffship (options available here), others choose to prepare for PG entrance seeking higher studies.

There are a number of cultural programmes going on from time to time throughout the year. The annual fest is called Rhapsody while the foundation day program is called Matiya, just to name the most important ones.

I did not avail any loan. For all practical purpose, you would not need a loan. However, in case you need, there should be no problems in getting one.

The male female ratio is something like 70:30 but can vary from year to year. The entire curriculum has practicals starting from the first year subjects. The experience is a standard one. There are two primary rival political groups: TMC Chhatra Parishad and Medical College Democratic Students' Association (MCDSA).People from all economic backgrounds study in this college.
