ADAMAS UNIVERSITY, BARASAT ( 2018 VERSION REVIEW )

We have to score above 50 % aggregate in class 12 to enroll in b.a Hons. The admission process starts with the orientation Programme: AU selection exam by which the candidates get chosen. Other candidates can also take admission later w/o sitting for examination subject to availability of seats. In that case, the form is available in the admin building reception center by filling which one get admission. I didn't opt for any reservation for admission. Initially, I paid approx. 68k while taking admission. The selection exam should be a bit tougher with the addition of an interview.

Exams were very timely even in terms of Covid, with only a month delay during this time otherwise exams happen according to the timetable of the academic calendar. Except for a few papers like legal awareness, phonetics another Indian constitution approx. 35 papers one can easily pass provided if he studies well atleast 2 weeks before exam though it's risky.

I didn't opt for internships so I do not know much But some of our friends who have gone to companies like relating to animation, management some get 2k, some get 7 - 10k per month which in my opinion is very bad. But during the internship phase one have to work very hard with not that lucrative stipend.

From the 5th semester, candidates are eligible for placements. Approx. 7 - 8 companies visited, although I did not opt for internships so no offer. I have heard the highest average is 9 L CTC per annum. Maybe 20 - 30 % get placements which are also not that good. My plan after getting a degree is to sit for various government jobs as well as UPSC CSE which I aim for.

I didn't have any course fee hike for the entire 3-year course. Although our juniors ( 2019 admission) faced a hike of 10k or so. Hostel and transport costs were also hiked in subsequent years ( who are our junior). Those who have got above 70 % on the WB board get a scholarship of 35 - 40k. I didn't apply for internships so I cannot say. But heard, our placement in this college is not that good.

Adinova fest conducted in the month of February started in 2020. Although due to covid no big annual fest has even had after that. I would rate 6.0 to the library section in terms of the variety of books. Amenities in the classrooms are quite good ( 7.5 ). There are 7 - 8 social clubs in our college, relating to dance, debate, social service, health, science tech, etc. Annual sports are held every year.
