Remarks
There were two entrance exams first one was JEE Mains which was qualified in nature, the other one was JEE Advance for those who qualified for JEE Mains. Ranks were decided on basis of JEE advance marks, which played an important role in getting desired college and course. its application form can be availed from the government website(ncert).
Course Curriculum Overview
My rank was the reason behind my course. It has a good faculty-to-student ratio (1:25). All faculty member had their Ph.D. The curriculum is decided at the start of the semester and exams were held timely. Further, the grading system was relative which made getting good grades extremely competitive.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are availed at end of the 4th semester and 6th semester. Many high-paying companies like Tower Research, ITC, HUL, etc visit for the internship program. The stipend range varies from 1lac/month to 20000/month.
Placement Experience
My college is known for its placements. the placement cum internship process starts by end of the 6th semester. The companies visited during placement season include Reliance Industries Limited, Tata Steel, HUL, Microsoft, Amazon, etc. More than 90% of students get placed during the placement season. The average package is around 17 lac, some students get as high as 2 crores. After getting my degree I want to do the job for a few months and then start preparing for UPSC.
Fees and Financial Aid
Recently there has been a hike in fees by a good amount owing to large research. For poorer students there is Merit cum means scholarship that provides 60% of fees as scholarship. Further education loans can also be taken. The campus jobs are awesome with an average package of 17 lac.
Campus Life
The campus was amazing. Annually there was three major fest - (1) cultural fest - Aantaragini (2) tech fest - Techkriti (3) sports fest - inter it. IIT K is also known for its one of the biggest libraries in the country (Kelkar library). Classrooms had state of the art technology, There are many clubs like aerospace groups, dance clubs, drama clubs, etc.
Hostel Facilities
Rooms were small with a fan, almirah, and a study table. The hostel mess provides decent food at a very cheap price further there is a canteen which provides good food at an affordable price. The hostel is very cheap and most students stayed in a hostel.
