IIIT Dharwad Review

IIIT Dharwad is one of the youngest IIITs and is popularly known for its B.Tech program. The college is established under the PPP model. The college is a very good option for people who are unable to get into IITs due to the high cutoff list. I was given the seat for IIIT Dharwad during my JOSAA counseling and I also froze my seat in the college as I was quite impressed by the college faculty experience and knowledge of their respective subject.

Like the college, itself is not too old so the curriculum of the programs is flexible and up to date and follows all industry guidelines and standards. The curriculum is fully IT-focused means the curriculum gives importance to technological knowledge through practical learning and the curriculum of the colleges is different from the traditional types of the syllabus. The faculty of the college is ae very good. The faculty is very cooperative and their teaching methods are very good. The faculty members are not only of PhD standards but also have good industrial exposure. The faculty members motivate us to take part in research activities and project work so that we can check our knowledge and improve it.

The college provides good internship opportunities with the help of the college placement committee. Our details are registered with the college placement committee and we are offered good internships in reputed companies. The average stipend for internships is around 55k. Around 45 companies visited our campus for the summer internship program.

Unlike the internship program, our details are registered with the college placement committee and they help us a lot during the college placement rounds. As they are completely responsible for conducting the placement process they guide us and train us so that we are placed as per our interest and domain. The highest package for our batch was approx 25 LPA and the average package was around 8.3 LPA. The college was able to achieve a 100% placement record.

The fee is a little bit on the higher side as the complete course costs around 12 lakh but the college provides good placement and stipends during summer internship is also good. The college also provides scholarships on a merit basis. The college infrastructure is well maintained. The college provides a good environment for studies. The classrooms are good and spacious enough to accommodate around 90 pupils at a time for lectures. The college library is the house of many national and international bestsellers books and all types of books as per our domain is also available. The college labs are modern and every department has labs and the equipment in the labs are modern.

The hostel infrastructure is very well maintained and the rooms are big and available with basic amenities like beds, study table with chair, and almirah for every one of us. the mess food quality is good and the menus are very vast and cooked in a hygienic environment. The hostel wardens and the staff work very hard to maintain the decorum of the hostel. The biggest plus point is the hostel is designed by Infosys for Corporate Social Responsibility. The hostel has all types of facilities.
