IBSAT; I was getting Gurgaon location - which was near my hometown - Ludhiana. Moreover, it was a well reputed college

I opted for Finance majors, which included 8 subjects for Finance each Semester. I am a Maths graduate - So Finance suited me the best. Course curricullum was very very wide - got to learn a lot about various subjects.

Several banks and corporate from various industries came for offering internships. Most of them offered very low stipend though. I interned with Vardhman Textile in Ludhiana - without a stipend, but learning was immense.

Placements suffered a little bit due to recession. A lot of investment banking companies - DE Shaw, UBS, Nomura, etc. hired finance people. Then, some KPOs (EVS, WNS, The Smart Cube) also came for placements. In corporate Finance, SAIL, Energy Infratech, India Bulls, banks - HDFC, ICICI, Axis bank, etc.

Blitz Kreig - Annual college festival - which was celebrated for 3 days, and hosted students from several other colleges too.Annual Finance Quiz, Xmas and New Years party, Freshers, Farewell, Diwali party, Holi party etc. - all festivals were celebrated in the campus, with good participation from all around

Very very expensive - the course fee was 7.5 lakhs. Over and above that, there was hostel expense, food, study material, laptop, travel, project expenditure, etc.however, scholarships were available to top 50 students in each semester, which were very helpful

Hostel facilities were good. The college had hired ~100 fully furnished flats in a society nearby. These flats were allotted to students on a first come first serve basis. The condition of these flats was top-notch.

Alumni network is not very strong. While the college conducts annual meet ups - turnout is very low in such events.There is an online alumni community too, but not very helpful - a few people are active there. This area definitely needs an improvement

We had four semesters and each semester had one mid-term and one final term exams. Moreover, there were assignments and tests almost everyday - making it a continuous evaluation system

Faculty was good - specially the Finance faculty. Teachers for other subjects though - such as, HR/ OB, Marketing, etc. were just about fine. I specially loved my Financial Management teacher - she had over 10 years of industry experience - which came very handy to her.
