Remarks
The admission process is through the CET exam conducted by GGSIPU around May-June every year for all paramedical UG courses except Bsc Nursing. There are no such 85% reservation criteria for Delhi Domicile candidates, admission is purely based on Ranking and merit list. Reservation is there for OBC/SC/ST/EWS /PH/DEFENCE Quotas. The admission process included offline counselling at the GGSIPU campus which is recently changed due to Covid and from this year onwards, online counselling was there and those who got allotted seats have to report to college under the given time period for documentation and confirmation of their admission.
Course Curriculum Overview
I'm basically from a medical background and the labs and all practical works fascinated me from the very beginning. I am always been fond to work in the healthcare field and helping out everyone from pain, sickness, trauma, and emergencies. As lab technologists, we are the backbone of all the diagnosis, prognosis, and line of treatment of any microbial, pathological and biochemical findings. The ratio of our batch in terms of faculty and students is pretty good like 1:1 or even more towards the faculty side. There are a huge no. of senior resident doctors who are assigned to us for a single expertise subject. Each and every faculty are MD or MS and some are super-specialists as well in the medical field. The teaching method is pretty much good with good infrastructure, LTs, Laboratories, museums, smart classrooms for Demos. For exams, there are two internal exams at the College level and an annual final exam at GGSIPU. 25% of internal and 75% of the external exam is considered as evaluation criteria for marks.
Internships Opportunities
For internship, our college is attached with Safdarjung Hospital which has Asia's Largest OPD and one of the maximum patient crowds in India. Lab and working place is A1 and during the whole course of study, each and every day we got few hours of posting to various laboratories to understand working, equipment's, methods and hand skills. Certain labs are Histopathology, CytoPathology, Biochemistry, Centre Collection, Blood Bank, Emergency, Microbiology, etc. After passing out from college we got 3 years of experience in this field and don't need to go for any compulsory internship program elsewhere.
Fees and Financial Aid
College fees are not that much, it is around 15,000 for the very first year which includes 5000 as a security deposit i.e; 100% refundable after completion of the course and 10,000 is basic annual college fees per year. 15,000 is the university fee that is charged by GGSIPU. Govt of Delhi provides many scholarship programs which avail us 100% to 25% of scholarship on our college fees. Apart from this, we have minority scholarships for stationary, meritorious student scholarships, etc. There is no such issue of fee price in our college. It is too affordable as compared to other colleges for the same course
Campus Life
Sports and extracurricular activities as mostly for SRs and other staff or MBBS students. There are no special arrangements for recreation for paramedical students here. One who is interested in sports and other activities like NCC/NSS can directly join at GGSIPU main campus. University cooperates in this very well. There are certain dance and dramatic societies in VMMC for MBBS students only
Other Applied Colleges
