IIT Mandi Review

IIT Mandi is one of the top-rated engineering colleges of India as the college is ranked among the best 50 engineering colleges in India. The college provides a very good opportunity in research work as since its inception the IIT Mandi faculty is involved in 275 R&D projects which are worth around 120 crores. The college has a very good placement standards record. After looking at the college achievements I wanted to be part of the college. I cleared my GATE exam and I was able to clear the college cutoff list. I have to fill out the admission form through the college website to start the admission process after getting selected on the basis of my GATE and academic score I was called for the GD and PI round which I cleared and I was allowed admission in the college.

The curriculum is up to date and flexible which means the curriculum can be regularly updated to meet the latest international industrial norms. The curriculum is divided between 4 semesters from the intermediate level top advanced level. The curriculum helps us to understand engineering concepts and design in detail and deeply. The faculty of the college is also very good. They are not only PhD standards but also help us to guide when we are stuck to any concepts. The faculty is also involved in many research activities for the college we can even assist the faculty of the college with their research work which helps us to learn lots of things related to engineering and many more.

The college provides a very good internship program and we have to at least complete 9 weeks of internship after completing the first year of our program. Our details are registered with the placement committee of the college so that they can help us to select good companies for internships. The average stipend for the internship is around 55k.

In a very short period of time, the college has made a very good name for its placement standards. The college not only provides 100% placement but the package offers are also very good. The placement committee of the college plays a very important part in the college placement drive as they are successful in inviting a good number of companies and they help us in every round so that we are placed and receive good offers. The highest package was around 25 LPA and the average package was 12 LPA.

The college complete course fee is around 5 lakh which is very reasonable inc comparison to other colleges of IIT Mandi standards. The college also provides good placement packages the average package ranges from 10 LPA to 12 LPA. The college also provides scholarships through various schemes such as Central Sector Scholarship for SC, HTRA scholarship for M.S., M.Tech., and PhD Students/Scholars, Merit Cum Mean Scholarship for General & OBC Category Students, Institute Scholarship for SC/ST. College life is good and friendly. The college seniors and the administrative staff is friendly. The college strictly follows no ragging policy. The college library is the house of many famous books from different kinds of authors around the world. The college has sports facilities like a badminton court, basketball court, volleyball court and many more. The college labs are modern as they are regularly used for research activities.

The hostel facilities are good and the rooms are available in triple, double and single accommodation. The rooms are cleaned 5 times a week and the bathrooms are also clean and proper sanitized. The hostel mess food quality is good and the mess menu is very vast. The college has high-speed WiFi facility and 24 hours of water and electricity supply is also available. The hostel provides us with all kinds of facilities as per our comfort.
