Aligarh Muslim University - Affordable place to learn

AMU conducts an Admission Exam for Each Course Every Year for both UG and PG courses. The Eligibility For the Bsc Course is 10+2 with Maths and Physics as one of the main subjects. You can find the Application form on University's Official Site www.amucontrollerexam.com around April-June every year The application fees for every UG course lies between 400-750INR. Amu gives many types of reservations some of which are CA, CE, Sports quota, Internal quota, Physical handicap quota etc. The admission process is quite straight forward so it does not require any improvements. we are asked a moderate level of questions in the exam.

I always wanted to go into the Applied Maths Field. So Bachelors in Science with Mathematics Honours has to be my field of interest that's why I chose this course. The faculty here is highly qualified and professional. Each and every teacher is a P.hd I respective fields with a lot of teaching experience. The Physics Department of Aligarh Muslim University is one of the best physics departments in the country. Amu gives us everything that a student needs from a central University even at this low cost. We do have smart classes with modern teaching methods. Exams are Semester Wise i.e. Once every 6 months. The exam needs focused study to pass with a good score. overall the difficulty is 7/10.

Availability of internship could be a con for the university especially for the students pursuing Undergraduate general courses like BA, BSc., B.com. I would give a 5/10 for the availability of paid internship in the university in general courses. Students of professional Courses Like Btech. MBBS are given more internship opportunities.

The fees Structure is very Affordable which ranges from 4000-15000 at max for regular undergraduate courses. So almost everyone can afford it. Even if someone can't afford it, we are given lots of scholarship opportunities by Different trusts and organisations across the country. There are some separate scholarship schemes for SC, ST students as well as Minorities.

Amu has a green lush campus spreading over 1100 acres of land. AMU have ASIA's Biggest library named MAULANA AZAD LIBRARY with over 1.4 million books available to students, faculty members and Research Scholars. Co-curricular activities also remain a major part of the life of students here. AMU students have played at various places at the National as well as International Levels. The only cons in the AMU are its Buildings and Infrastructure as it has some old buildings present here but they are in fine condition. Amu Students Union provides us with lots of societies where each student can choose as per his/her interest. Debating Society of AMU always remains at the top which has a very strong ALUMNI network with lots of strong Orators.
