Remarks
Golden Valley Institute of Technology is the best college with a very reasonable fees structure. We have a very good learning environment here.
Entrance Preview
I got through GVIT through CET exams. I had got 20000rank in CET, I opted for GVIT because it had Mining as a subject and also it was the home town I lived in.
Course Curriculum Overview
The first year was a combined class with Electrical branch, later it was a separate branch for Mining students only. We were about 19 members and all were boys. We had an ultimate fun time learning together.
Internships Opportunities
There was no internship offered in our college. i mean when we were studying. However i am not aware if there is any currently. I would be a great start if we could initiate it.
Placement Experience
Placements were good, We had a lot of campus interviews in our college. However we didn't have any for mining. I heard that there were campus interviews two years after i passed out and there was 100% placement.
College Events
We used to have many events most of them technical events. The best was the Karnataka Rajyotsava and Gold Rush, Which is an annual college day program. In Rajyotsava all members used to participate. Even the north Indian students and north east students were able to perform in Kannada.
Fee Structure And Facilities
As mine was a free seat. I would say it was not that expensive. I was able to complete my entire 4 years course in just 50000. Which includes the college fees and the examination fees.
Fees and Financial Aid
Loans were offered by the local banks for the course. College didn't provide any loans. We have State Bank of Mysore and Canara bank and also syndicate bank which used to provide education loan.
Campus Life
As i already informed. we had big facilities for each labs. we also have a club very close which offers special prices for students. We had Goulf grounds around our campus.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel was very spacious and was a little far from the city, which made it really good facility away from all the noise and pollution. Food was good. We the students used to do the purchase and we had a food committee too.
Alumni/Alumna
We have a very strong alumni network. we had a huge number of students who have preceded their carriers in various fields of science and technologies.
Exam Structure
We had 3 internal tests conducted in a semester covering all syllabus. The best 2 marks were calculated for our final Internal marks.
Faculty
Facility was really good filled with greenery. We also had a mining shaft in our campus. We had a big stadium, pavilion, Basket Ball ground, 2 canteens to suit our needs. We had seperate huge labs with complex instruments and equipments.
