Remarks

OUAT was one of the best options for me as I belong to a farmer family and I wanted to contribute to the farming industry so I decided to opt for OUAT as the college is very popular for its agriculture program and the university also has collaboration with IIT Roorkee and IIT Delhi for agriculture research education. The admission is on the basis of the Common Entrance Examination Test by OUAT and selection is on the merit score scored in the test. I was able to clear the test and I was shortlisted on the basis of the entrance test my academic record was also okay and I was allowed admission in the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum of the college was up to date and it follows all kinds of latest industrial guidelines. The curriculum gives us insight details on every part of farming and soil conservation and soil fertility techniques. The faculty of the college is also very experienced and well qualified. The faculty were not only of PhD standards but also have very good research experiences from one of the top universities of India. The faculty was the one who were eager to share their valuable knowledge with us.

Internships Opportunities

4

We don't have an industrial internship program. We have RAWE through which we have to complete research work means we get an opportunity to interact with the farmers and we have t go to the fields and experience the real farming techniques of different types of crops and have to understand the fertility standards of the soil.

Placement Experience

4

After completing the two years of our program we are eligible for a placement drive and we can take part in the college placement drive. Honestly speaking the placement packages are not so big but the college is able to maintain a record of 75-85% of placement records. Most of my batch mates are from the farming family they prefer to continue with the farming or move ahead for higher studies. The overall average package is around 5-7 LPA and seeds and chemical companies visit the campus for the college placement drives.

Fees and Financial Aid

The complete course fee is around 54000 which is very reasonable and the average placement of the college is around 6 LPA which very good return on investment in comparison to college fees. The college also has several scholarship schemes such as Merit Scholarship, Free Studentship, National Scholarship, Teacher’s kid Scholarship, Freedom Fighters Scholarship, Jr. College Merit Scholarships, Sr. College Merit Scholarships, Post-Matric Scholarships. To know about the scholarship eligibility one can visit the college's official website.

Campus Life

4

The college infrastructure is very well maintained. The classrooms are modern fully AC and a digital board is available. The college labs are modern and properly maintained. The college library has many books of bestsellers authors from all around the world and most of the books are from the farming industry. The seniors and the administrative staff is cooperative and friendly.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel rooms are available for sharing, triple, double and single accommodation as per the budget. The hostel is well maintained and rooms are properly ventilated and clean. The hostel mess food is good and the menu changes as per the demand. The hostel wardens are cooperative and the staff is well trained. The hostel provides 24 hours of water and power supply. The hostel has all types of facilities available for us.

B.Sc.(Hons.) Agriculture is one of the important and relevant subjects out of all. If we say about Indian context then most of the people are dependent on agriculture. So in India it's relevance is very high. This curriculum consists all type of subjects like agronomy, soil science, economics, marketing, pathology, genetics and breeding, horticulture etc. this course is more based on practical than the theory. Course Curriculum Overview:

As India is a agricultural country most people depends on agriculture so I choose this course that I think it might have more scope. Through this course, we covered both theory and practice; we planted crops, prepared the field, applied manure to the soil, and irrigated the field. The difficulty is not too hard, and there are about 4 exams in a year, which is very good. In this course we must visit the village and interact with village people know their problems and try to find solutions. In our college we are less interactive with village farmers.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Agriculture course is highly vast and informative. This course actually provides economic knowledge about the food we consume in our daily life and also provides the information about how they are grown and taken care of by our hardworking farmers. And talking about the difficulty level it's actually easy and we just have to get involved in this course as much as we can. Improvement this course requires is to give proper guidance to our farmers and also to provide them with proper wages they deserve.
