Remarks
Any candidate with a valid score in JEE mains can get admission to the course. Earlier it was mandatory to have 75% marks in 12th board but in my year it wasn't. Admission forms, fees, and other details can be easily found on the josaa portal. There are category-based benefits for students. The admission process is good, I don't know if I can suggest anything.
Course Curriculum Overview
I was interested in chemical engineering since always. So I chose this course. The faculty-student ratio of our college is 1:12 which is pretty good for an engineering college. Most of the faculty members are Ph.D. graduates with good experience, and the teaching method is also good. Exams are held twice a semester (mid sems and end sems) other than that there are frequent quizzes. The difficulty level depends on the faculty's mood actually, if you know what I mean.
Internships Opportunities
The internship opportunities are provided in campus but I'm not sure about that. But I've heard that 20% of students got internships in companies like reliance and Adobe. Other than that students try to find and do internships on their own but it's really hectic. In the final year, students are provided projects like designing a reactor for the given task and they're supposed to complete it for better placements.
Placement Experience
I think from the 7th or 8th semester, students become eligible for placement. The companies like ONGC, Reliance, JK tyers, Adani groups are the most famous ones for the placements. The highest, lowest and average packages are 12,4 and 6 LPA respectively for the latest year. Almost 60-80% of students get placed. I'm planning on getting placement after the completion of my degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees for the overall course is something about 5.6 lakhs but there is fee remission which is provided to students. Students having their family income less than 5 lakhs get fee remission of some amount given that they have to submit a few documents, correct and original. I think all the IITs and NITs provide fee Remission and the details are easily available on the internet. As I'm in my second year I haven't got any job yet. But I've heard From seniors that placement and stipend are performance-based. If you perform well then you get an impressive package.
Campus Life
SVNIT organizes many fests throughout the year. So naming one is hard. Recently we celebrated "Umang" with the theme "Aazadi ka amrit mohotsav" and a cultural fest is ongoing right now on the occasion of "Mahashivratri". The central library is located on the campus and it has many books but I believe they should add more fictional novels as they're also important for students' mental health. Classrooms are large, bright with a proper air supply. Sports and extra curriculars are also taken care of really well. And there are many clubs both cultural and technical. They have their own websites and Instagram handles too.
Hostel Facilities
In the girl's hostel, there are double sitted rooms for the first and second year which have 2 beds, 2 study tables, and 1 wardrobe. Mess food is good and there's a variety of food. Registration for a hostel is on online mode, and it's very organized and easy to do. As the college provides excellent hostel facilities for the given amount of fees they charge, one doesn't need to get a PG.
