Makhanlal University- A true journalism University

No improvement is needed in the admission process because it is already an easy and effective process. At my time, I got admission on basis of 12th board marks due to the COVID situation. Usually, University conducts an entrance exam for admission but for the last 2 years, admission is being given on the basis of 12th marks due to unfavourable conditions to conduct the exam. Every year University uploads the admission schedule which includes application details like date, form, etc.

I choose this course because I was interested in this field. University has all equipment for the practical purpose of this course like camera, studio, etc. The faculty is well qualified. Faculty members are PhD holders, highly experienced in this field. They all are friendly in nature. They treat you as their child, not as a student.

College provides internship opportunities right from starting of your course. College provides internships with big media firms as well as with start-ups. College provides internships according to your course but you are allowed to do any internship of any department. Dainik Bhaskar, NaiDunia, People's provide internships to students of our college under the internship program of college with the role of the content creator, content writer, scriptwriter, video editor, etc. Internships provided are of both types with a stipend and without stipend depending upon the firm providing internship under the college's internship program.

Students become eligible for placement from the 5th semester or the start of their last year. Every year many media houses come here to offer placements in their houses. Media houses like Zee, AajTak, Dharma productions, etc are major companies that offer placements. Other than placements colleges provide internship opportunities to their student's infamous newspapers like Dainik Bhaskar, Nai Dunia, etc which helps in the development of students.

As a government college, it already has a low fee Structure. Its fee for the whole course of 3 years is 60,000 which is distributed into 8 semesters and 16 instalments. There is a scholarship for a backward class students especially girl students to encourage girls for higher education.

It has two campuses. One is an old campus in which current academic work is going on and another one is a new campus that is under construction and expected to be completed by July 2022. The new campus will be fully open for all activities in July 2022. The new campus is spread in 50 acres of land which has hostels, separate buildings for different departments, a large auditorium, indoor games building, etc. Right now, academic activities are going on the old campus which has two 6 storey buildings. Both campuses have large libraries with very rich resources of books, journals, newspaper archive sections, etc. Classrooms are well cleaned and ventilated and wifi facility.
