The kcet eligibility rank is under 120000. The fee for kcet candidates is 65000 whereas management candidates have a fee of 75000 in Malnad college of engineering. These are the two processes by which admission are done in Malnad college of engineering. Also, admission are done through Comedk means but only for EC, EE, MECH and civil. The automobile industry is a never stopping industry. Choosing the automobile branch was an idea for working on a large scale and having a greater salary. The faculties of Malnad college of engineering are great, every 60 member group of students is provided with a single course faculty and a course advisor. All the Faculty have a minimum qualification of M.tech of MS. Many faculties do have a PhD from India and from abroad. The teaching method is unique and is understandable, faculties are ready to clear your doubts all the time you ask for. There are 3 internal exams with 1 activity and 1 quiz every semester and there will be a semester-end exam at every end of the semester. The 3 internal exams, 1 activity and 1 quiz sum up to 50 marks and the semester end exam are for 50 marks. In total, a course has overall 100 marks, 50 internals and 50 of the semester-end exam.

Students are eligible for campus placement from their 5 semesters and sometimes the placement is also held for only students of 7 semesters. There are numerous companies that visit Malnad college of engineering during placements and among them, the greatest companies are Mercedes-Benz, Mahindra, Tata and many more. The package ranges from 7 lakh per annum to 15 lakh per annum. The minimum eligibility for a student to seat in the placements is a CGPA of more than 6 in every semester. Also a growing CGPA in every semester.

The fees are different for different branches. Let's divide the college into two parts aided and un-aided, aided branch's fee ranges up to 20000 whereas un-aided fee ranges from 65000 to 90000. The fee may vary with appropriately 5000-10000 every year or may not. The hike in fees depends on the regulation of the government over fee structure. There are numerous scholarships a student can apply for. The dates and details to apply for those scholarships are provided by the college office itself for time being. There are no jobs on campus for studying students but a student can find a part-time job around the campus in nearby supermarkets and shopping centres.

There are many clubs in college which organise fest every year, mainly the fest are arranged in between October to February. The library is filled with many books about the courses offered by the college. There is a separate section of books for SC students, which means they have access to an extra set of books from general students. The classroom has a good facility of fans and lights with benches. Each class has a projector for a digital form of study. The college has been represented by many forms of sports in intra college-level competition across the state. It provides basic coaching of numerous sports in the first year of college. There is a swimming pool, gym, basketball court, volleyball Court football field and cricket field on the campus. There is also an NSS wing inside the college with many clubs for students run by students with the help of teachers.

The boy's hostel is inside the campus whereas the girl's hostel is outside the campus but a college bus is provided for girls to approach college from the hostel and then from college to the hostel. Each room is provided for 2 students with their respective beds and tables also a separate locker is given for every student. The meal provided is good up to a mark, the people who like spicy food will be a bit disappointed to have the hostel food. Hostel registration is done inside the hostel office by providing the admission letter from the college. The fee of the hostel is around 50000. There are numerous PGs and rental rooms across the college, you can even opt for them.
