College hungama

To apply for a BTech course in any IIT, the student has to qualify both the two stages JEE adv and JEE mains. After qualifying for these two exams, he/she has to fill the list of colleges he wishes to join in the JOSAA portal. He/she can select any IIT, NIT or IIIT, and other institutes. The seat allotment procedure is done in seven rounds. We have to select the courses accordingly otherwise we may not be allotted to any of the colleges. Reservation plays a key role in the process. People belonging to OC doesn't have any reservations. People from SC/ST has a high reservation. OBC people have a small number of reservations around 21%. It is very tough to get into these colleges for OC category students. But if we work hard we can get into any course we wish for.

IIT Hyderabad follows the system known as the fractal academics system that provides stress free environment in college. Professors in our college are highly educated, professional and are more passionate. Professors-students ratio is 1:15. It's a good ratio as one professor has been allotted with 15 students which makes the communication between the professor and student easy. We can easily approach them whenever we face difficulties while learning the courses. Comming to Exams, they are not too tough, if we work accordingly as per our timings we can get good cgpa that helps a lot during the placements.

Big companies such as zomato, Microsoft, Dell, Google, Uber, Hp, ola provide internships to students who are good at coding and other skills. Stipends are also available with the range starting from 20,000 and going up to 2 lakhs for summer internships, also full semester internships are also available with the same amount of stipend as above.

80% of students get placement in campus placement selections. The main reason for such a success rate is maintaining a good CGPA and having some important skills such as coding. This is enough to get selected in campus placement selections. Placement selections start in the first semester of the final year in the college. Even internships are also very high in the college. We have to apply for internships in the 3rd year and we have to attempt some exams to get selected for the next round which is interview. Getting an internship is more easier way to get a placement.

The fee structure in our college is slightly higher than most of the remaining colleges except other IITs. But we can have scholarships according to our family income. There are many other scholarships available and if we maintain a good CGPA(>8), then we are eligible for scholarships. Most of the students prefer scholarships over campus jobs as they are easily available. IITs get funds from Government and can be spent accordingly as per the requirements of the college. Hence most of the money pressure is relieved on the students by using the funds provided by the government as scholarships. By doing Internships we can get stipends also.

There are many fests conducted in the college and it's s the best thing about our college. Elan and nvison is the excellent club of IITH and is very highly anticipated for by the students of IITH. Milan is the general championship of IITH in which hostel blocks compete with each other in sports, cultural and technical activities and we can have a lot of fun in Milan as per our experience. There is also an Interdepartmental championship held in our college, even it gives a lot of fun. The most important championship is the Inter IIT championship where students from different colleges participate in the fest and we can also visit other colleges.we have to be talented to get into this championship. We have TEDx club, sci-tech club, robotics club , glitch club and many clubs are present in the college.

Each room is allotted with a single student. But as per the current situation (unavailability of sufficient rooms ) some rooms are allotted with two students. A bed, cot, study table, cupboard are provided each the room and two students rooms are provided with two beds ,two cots ,two study tables and two cupboards. Hostel rent is easily affordable.Food in the mess is healthy and good but not as good as much we feel in our homes.only pg students are allowed to stay outside the college as per my knowledge. All the remaining students has to stay in college hostels.
