Entrance Preview

I got information from my friend that there is direct admission going on college on the basis of your merit hence i went and got admitted.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum is designed by calcutta university in such a way that if student in side studying any other course it will be very helpful for them like chartered accountant. Course or company secretary course or any other ,it will be very useful for them as they get many new things information from this course.

Internships Opportunities

No my college does not provide internship. As it is fully based on calcutta university course does not provide hence my college do not provide internship.

Placement Experience

Placement is not at all up to mark and i am not satisfied with the placement as college informed students. After you complete your course and pass exam at least 4-5 companies will visit college and hire students and after i cleared exam only one company came to campus that is IBM and i was not informed when that company came.

College Events

Saraswati puja is celebrated in my college every year where idol of god saraswati is bought and worshiped with loyal hearth. Blood donation camp is organised every year where many students donate blood.It is one of big event as almost 90% college students donate blood.

College senior was very good as whenever i went to teacher to solve my problem teacher was very busy and behaves very rudely many times so its only seniors who helped me finally.

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

I choose the course the b.com because I want to become the CA but after completing the graduation my family condition was not very good so I quit my studies and searching for the job. My dream was after B.com then I complete M.com then CA but I couldn't do that. I'm pursuing because I'm interested in understanding how businesses work and want a solid foundation in commerce and finance. It opens up various career paths in accounting, finance, management, and more. Plus, it's a versatile degree that can lead to professional certifications like CA, CS, or MBA.

I did chose this course to learn more about accounting and finance and the cirriculum prepares you perfectly for the real world. The exams were conducted very soon in few semester only giving 3 months for the students to prepare . the professors were good at teaching and somehow used to complete the syllabus

SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.

A college with all the facilities.

I applied in 5 colleges;Seth Anandram Jaipuriya, Goenka, Surendranath, Lalbaba and City college in which I am currently studying. I got confirmation from lalbaba and City college. Those nice college days

I had applied in many colleges and also got selected there but I chose city college for it's friendly atmosphere and supportive seniors. In order to eligible for pass course you need minimum 60percent for not put yourself in waiting list. If you score below this then there are chances that your name will be not in the first list. There are 2 or sometimes 3 lists are out for admission list. If you want to go with honours then you need 85 to 90 percent because seats are very limited...Read More
