Remarks
I applied for the College under UP neet counselling my state was 253, so I got KGMU in my first attempt. The counselling process of UP neet is very slow. First, they will release the schedule on upneet.gov.in you should check the website for the schedule. Then you have to submit a DD of 30000Rs if you got admission to government college and 100000 Rs if private during document verification centre. You can choose any document verification centre which is close to your home town. You will get a date on which have to submit your original documents and your medical checkup will also be done. And then you will receive an email and message on your mobile number for reporting to college and attending classes. You have also submitted a hostel security fee of 1000 when you report.
Course Curriculum Overview
I want to be a doctor so I joined MBBS. KGMU has the best faculty. We also have visiting faculty for some departments. In every department, the University held additional classes for weak students. All teachers are masters of their field to be a faculty college ask for 7 years teaching experience in addition to completion of your senior resident ship. My exams are easy if you are focused on your classes and attended all classes. In university, the most difficult exams are the first year and final year. If you passed your first no department will fail you till final year.
Internships Opportunities
The college has an intramural research society which encourages you to take interest in research they will provide fund for research and also supports you. There is also a short term internship under ICMR( Indian Council of Medical Research ). There are also monthly projects for all students.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is higher than any other Government Medical College in Uttar Pradesh. In general, you have to pay 56000 for first-year which includes a 10000 rupay security fee. For other years the fee is around 30000 per year and you also have to submit exam fees for about 8000 per year from 2nd year onwards. Financially weak students can apply for the UP scholarship scheme under which all their tuition fees is refunded. In an internship, the salary is 13000 per month which is very low as compared to other states in India and it is decided by the government of that state so you can't blame college for low stipend.
Campus Life
KGMU has a society called DEAN STUDENT WELFARE ASSOCIATION. For organizing any program you have to write a letter to DSWA and if it is good and efficient they will approve it and will provide you fund for the function. The college also hold annual fest RHAPSODY which is for 4 days. We also have central library which has many books and journals. College also offers online access tojournals and articles. The best of all sports is GPL( Georgian Premier League ) which is day night cricket matches between students of different batches and faculty. There are regular poster competitions and slogans by different departments.
Hostel Facilities
The college provide for hostel to all students. For first year we have NEW CV HOSTEL which is best for all college students. You will make many memories in this hostel. Hostel fees is also very low about 2000 per year. Every hostel has 4 to 5 mess so you can choose any one of them it is up to you. Quality of meal is good and affordable 55 per meal. In room get 1 bed 1 chair 1 table and 1 almirah.
