Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology Meerut is one of the four Agriculture University of Uttar Pradesh. Every year UPCATET is Conducted into this university. For b.tech biotechnology the minimum eligibility is 10 + 2 with maths or biology background. You Can search on Google about the upcatet exam and it's details. This Year it is conducted by Banda Agriculture University and it will held in May . Reservation benefits are availed to students in course seats as per the Govt rules and guidelines.

Overall faculty is very good they are very supportive, knowledgeable and GATE, IIT pass-outs.All Faculty are doctorate degree holders with having journals, research Papers published nationally and international level .According to the batch size every group of 7 to 10 students are assigned a professor who is their advisor for whole 4 years. Apart from one or two professors, Every Professor is very supportive and helpful in academics as well as in non acdemic area. The whole four year course is divided into 8 semesters and within a semester midterms are conducted every 3-4 months. Our University is funded by ICAR New Delhi and prescribed by 5 Dean committee syllabus which is very relevant for PG competitive exams and Gate.

As such officially in the last year, students were allowed to do internships as a part of syllabus curriculum but in the meantime or in the semester breaks you can join any paid or free internships according to your subject of interest and availability of seats. Placements here is their only negative point. placement here are not in biotechnology College apart from this ,every other department have their placement cell and placements but placements are not there for you but internships are definitely there via online mode or offline mode in 4th year last semester.

The average fees for the course is 2 Lakh for whole course. 20.5 k per semester and Hostel fees is around 5000 per semester As this is UP government college the scholarship is provided same under the guidelines of Uttar Pradesh scholarship system.

The university conduct its event on every 2nd October on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and foundation day of University. It includes cultural events like singing competition ,dance competition ,one act,mimes and the winner of these events are nominated for National level agriculture Youth fest. The university have its own stadium with having cricket pitch, basketball court and indoor stadium having gym and badminton court for the students. In 2021 the furniture, infrastructure of class has been redeveloped.In all the labs,classes and Hostels are well equipped with High speed Internet Facility with Ethernet cables and wifi servers.

The hostel is well spacious and sperate hostels are alloted for Biotechnology Students. In first year,Double occupancy hostels were given and from 2 year single seater hostels were allotted. The mess charges are given to mess owner every month which was later decided by Hostels mess incharge according to menu. The Mess Meal is Hygienic but average in taste. Hostels rooms includes one chair ,table, attached almirah while alloting .
