Remarks

Overall the college facilities were good and the knowledge our teachers shared was amazing. Superb faculty and great place to study.

Entrance Preview

Never gave any entrance exam since the course did not require any. The admission process was smooth and the college representatives were very helpful.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course had interesting subjects which is now helping in my current job. We also had good practical knowledge about film making and advertising projects.

Internships Opportunities

Although none of the companies approached us for internship we were given time to search for internship jobs. I got placed at CNN-IBN due to the knowledge that i got from my teachers.

College Events

We had frames film festival which was one of the biggest film festival in navi mumbai. Colleges from all over India participated in this fest and the response was awesome. There was media coverage as well and a lot of celebrities were called upon as judges.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible and a middle class family will be able to afford it given the facilities by the college it was a real good experience.

Campus Life

There were a lot of extra curricular activities. The one thing surprising for me was having baseball and soft ball in sports. I always wanted to play baseball and i got a great chance to represent the college. There were other sports like cricket,basketball,badminton and football too.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors were very helpful and they guided us on every subject and examinations. They also helped us with short films and shared their expert opinions with us.

Exam Structure

The exam schedule was good and the facilities provided made us even more comfortable. The structure was very organised and though off.

The faculty was very helpful and guided us in every way possible. They gave us in-depth industry knowledge which is helping me in my career. They had tons of experience in teaching and shared relevant knowledge of their experience in the industry.

Reminiscing College Days

Placement Experience:

There were cmapus placements but not very enticing. Since I already had a full-time job with BBC GoodFood India Magazine as i already cracked this job first in my college.

College for students who wanna Hustle

Course Curriculum Overview:

the timings are great for students who wanna work while studying, but that only starts in the SY because in FY there are lectures from 10 to 1, that will give youll time to enjoy as a student, where as in SY n TY lectures will be from 7 to 9

Course Curriculum Overview:

I will rate 6 out of 10 because the syllabus it has old information. The special aspect of the curriculum is about branding, strategy use to make strong brand in the market. The area for improvement in these curriculum is to provide student the proper software for technical or practical subjects. (like photoshop, indesign, etc.)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I want to be in the film industry. I want to become an actor. This course helps us to get aware of all the media industries. Be it films or television or even radio. Now, there are even more fields such as Public Relations and Event Management. There is an almost equal number of girls and boys. The faculty have industry experience and are well-spoken. They help us in each and every way possible. The use of presentations and modules is common. The learning process is fun and easy. The examinations are conducted in a semester pattern. There are a total of 6 semesters that are conducted on time. The syllabus covers a wide range of topics such as communication, films, photography, etc.

Placement Experience:

Form third year students become eligible for campus placement. Many reputed companies like times of India hindustan times visited our college and got various students selected based on their caliber. The average package here is a around 5-10 Lakh per annum. Only those students who are talented enough for any post get selected for particular job. I'm planning to do a internship in popular media House.

Remarks:

KJ Somaiya College is a very huge college and has a perfect system of everything. Proud to be a student of this college. They have extra curricular activities cultural forum fests and much more. They also have outdoor Games, athlete ground, hostels, 7 to 8 canteens. The teaching system is quite good they have compulsory 75% of attendance.

I got admission on basis of my 12th marks. Mumbai university consist of 3 merit lists, in which student get admission according to the criteria and my name appeared in one of those list hence i got admission .

Chose this college over the others because it feels safer here. No other colleges provided dual degrees. The faculty is known good for its teaching. The cultural activities are also known for its good. Got confirmed seat in hinduja but sies is cleaner whereas hinduja isnt. Sanitation is a top priority for girls,so didnt choose hinduja. Got rejected by mithibai college due to applying too late. Eligiblity criteria for admission is 12th pass from any board whereas cutoffs can be around 50-75%varying on the courses....Read More
