Admission to this college is made on the basis of merit. The University releases it's cut off marks and according to which students can judge whether they are eligible for the college or not. The University has it's official website where all the informations related to admission is published. Fees, procedure,date and time of admission is there in the website. Of course reservation facilities are there as it is a government institution. Special weight age is given to SC/ST students, Students good in sports, NCC cadets,NSS volunteers etc. First provisional merit list is displayed in the website and after the offline verification of documents in the University premises, final merit list is prepared.

The course curriculum is based on CBCS model. The reason behind choosing the course is that in our state it has good fame for this course. There is a good faculty student ratio. There are minimum of 3 to 4 lecturers for a single subject. The faculty members are highly qualified. All of them holds higher level qualifications like Ph.D . The style is really unique as they teaches us using daily life examples and other practical applications. Term examinations are conducted in proper time and in proper way. Somehow it is not much difficult to pass but tough to score well in the exams.

Students become eligible from 5th semester of 3 year undergraduate courses for placement. In other words final yeae students are eligible for the placement. Companies like Deloitte, ITC, TCS, Infosys etc are visiting the campus. I want to continue my further studies after completing the course.

Fees is quite nominal as it is a government institution. Students have to deposit most of the fees yearly. But about the mess expenses which are paid monthly according to the consumption of the student. Hostel fee is around 6 to 8 thousand per year and the course fee is 0. Examination fee is Rs 250 per semester for regular courses and Rs 600 per semester for professional and self financing courses. Students have the different options to take scholarship from both central and state governments as well as other private institutions. Special benefits are given to university toppers.

Life is really amazing in Ravenshaw University, Cuttack. I don't remember the actual date of various types of functions conducted in the University. But events like annual sports, food festival etc are conducted by the students. So many sports events like cricket tournaments, football tournaments, volleyball matches etc and other indoor and outdoor games are conducted regularly by different academic departments and hostels of the university. In festivals like holi grand celebrations also take place. The campus is ragging free and suitable to all types of students. University also has different clubs like music club,art club, acting club etc.where students can participate and show their talents. From such clubs tremendous students are selected and aided to show their talents to the world beyond this institution. There is Instagram page named the red empire and also all the above events can be seen by a single type in the search bar of You Tube.

It has 7 boys hostels and 6 girls hostels. The hostel conditions are ready good. Regularly they are maintained and repaired by the university. There is proper sanitary system. Students are provided wifi facilities in the hostel. The dinning hall is present inside every hostel so there is no need to walk outside. Every hostel has appointed a General Secretary to one senior student who takes all the queries of students of the hostel to the warden. Electric system is good. There is 24 hour electricity in the hostel. Nearly rooms are big and 4 to six students use to stay in a room and this this varies from hostel to hostel. The menu for the meal is decided by students and warden and the mess manager. Meetings regarding any improvement in the menu are conducted regularly. Price of the meal varies between Rs 30 to 40 per meal from hostel to hostel. Hostel registration is made at the time admission of the students to the university.
