Entrance Preview

It was a merit based selection, and I took admission in the Bachelor of Arts course (B.A.) with English Literature, Political Science, Sociology. In 3rd year of the college I had to leave one subject and I gave up Sociology. English Literature is my one of my favourite subject and I always wanted to study this, hence I chose B A course and later on I pursued Masters in English Literature from the same college as this was one of the best college in studies and maintained a high standards for the discipline.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum, designed by the parent University, Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University, Faizabad was very huge and covering almost all the aspects of studies, it gave enough knowledge and exposure about the topics and enhanced my awareness and expertise on those areas. The curriculum was very concurrent and lot of recent past topics were also covered, it also had the history about that topic, so a student could get the glimpse of the history and recent past as well. Teachers used to guide us to various research papers, which also used to give the students the current perspective about that subject/topic.

Placement Experience

0.5

No, this was not available there and it didn't matter a lot as the courses were of that kind where you can go for intern ship after the completion of the course. However, there was a possibility to assist the teachers in their course, but again t didn't matter a lot as the courses were of that kind where you can go for intern ship after the completion of the course.

College Events

4

There used to be a line up of events throughout the year alumni Relations Event,Hindi Pakhwara Samaroh, NSS events, NCC events, Independence Day, Republic Day, Other cultural events, Sports events, Inter-college events/competitions, Essay writing, poem writing Competitions etc all the students were encouraged to participate in the organising and taking part in these programmes. It used to be a fun and learning for all the students and a great opportunity fro networking.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure was very feasible for all sort of students, special scholarships was available for poor and meritorious students there was a government funded book bank facility, which used to make the books available for all the students on a very nominal annual charge.

Fees and Financial Aid

There were a number of scholarship available for various categories of the students concessional fee for needy students, scholarship for needy and backward category students etc were also available books were available on load from book bank on a very nominal annual fee.

Campus Life

3

There was a good mix of students of both the genders and various cultural activities used to be taking place on campus and the participation was required from boys and girls. There was a very healthy environment where we could comfortably study and network with each other mostly students were from Hindu and Muslim religion.

Hostel Facilities

0.5

I didn't stay in the hostel, as the college was just 4 kms away from my home heard from my friend that it was ok types, not very attractive and comfortable, but there are many and separate for boys and girls. Mess facility was not available at that time.

Alumni/Alumna

There was only one alumni event every year, but there was very minimum chance for the students for interaction for students not very helpful.

Exam Structure

Exams were once in a year, so it was chilled out, however, the invigilators used to be very strict and they the examinees were not allowed to move there head. They didn't allow anyone to enter after half an hour of starting of exams the environment used to be very silent.

Faculty

5

The teaching aspect of the course was the backbone of the college, very learned, experienced and cooperative faculties used to bring the knowledge platter for us every class day. The faculties used to be very interested in teaching and used to have very good knowledge of their subjects/topics.

Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith - [MGKVP], Bachelor of Arts [BA] (Education)
Reviewed on Feb 17, 2026(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The BA curriculum in my college at Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith (MGKVP) for the 2025–2026 academic year is structured under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, making it academically comprehensive but traditionally theoretical. It follows a six-semester system that offers a wide range of subjects, from core Humanities (History, Political Science, Hindi) to modern electives and Vocational courses (e.g., Nutrition, Yoga, or Digital Literacy), providing students with a multidisciplinary framework. In terms of relevance, the syllabus is exceptionally well-suited for students aiming for government services and competitive exams (UPSC/UPPSC), as the depth of social science subjects mirrors the state and national civil service patterns. However, its professional comprehensiveness is lower; while the curriculum includes internal assessments, presentations, and project work to build soft skills, the actual delivery remains focused on rote learning and theory rather than industry-ready practical training. Consequently, the course is highly relevant for an academic or administrative career path but requires significant self-supplementation (internships or external skill-building) for those seeking immediate roles in the private sector.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is well structured, relevant, and comprehensive. One of the main reasons I chose this course was its balanced syllabus, which includes both theoretical concepts and practical applications. The curriculum is designed in a way that builds a strong foundation in core subjects while also introducing advanced topics gradually. This helps students understand subjects deeply rather than just studying for exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My Biggest reason to choose this subject to I like art related work,so I choose this subject. One advantage of doing this subject is that along with art,you can learn a lot from other social and cultural aspect as well. There is a need to make some improvements in this subject such a a course should be of shorter duration and the syllabus should be made a little shorter. Whatever the exam, the subject should be made a short subject with less duration and should not be of long duration.
