Remarks

Eligibility: passed 12th from any board. Admission is given on the basis of marks obtained in class 12th. Application forms are available on the college site thc.edu.in. I don't know much about reservations but I think there are reservations for students who are from West Bengal.

I chose the course because I was interested in doing BCom and afterward going for MBA. For every 10 students there are 2 faculties available. Faculties are well qualified and have a great way of teaching.

Internships Opportunities

As I am in my first year I don't know much about internships but whatever senior interaction I have done I came to know that seventy percent of the students get internships opportunities in big companies like TCS, Wipro, British Telecom.

Placement Experience

After the 2nd year, students get eligible for placements. Many companies visit our campus for palcement like DELOITTE USI, CAPGEMINI, British telecom, CTS, etc. 60-70% of students get placed. The average package is around 3-3.5 lakhs. After completing my BCom I will go for MBA.

Fees and Financial Aid

The course is very much affordable. At the time of admissions, I gave 52000 rs and per semester the fee is 35100. The overall cost for 3 years comes to around 2.2 lakhs. I don't have any idea about scholarships.

Campus Life

The college conducts regular seminars and two fests throughout the year. All sorts of books to gain knowledge are available in the library. Classrooms are clean and organized. Interdepartmental sports events are conducted on a regular basis.

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

I did chose this course to learn more about accounting and finance and the cirriculum prepares you perfectly for the real world. SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.

i got a confirmed in all colleges of kolkata like bethune, loreto, brabourne, etc. i didnt get into xaviers. Xaviers was my first choice but since i didnt get into it i was happy with THC or bethune. my admission for bethune came a while later, when i was already comfortable with heritage. plus the campus vibes, faculty and friends played an important role into choosing this collge. i didnt get into xaviers because i didnt have score high enough to secure the index marks. the admission process of my college is very easy, they accept 10+2 level examinations and you are eligible to fill up the form if you have secured 60%, but the admission desk is very very polite and helpful. overall the entire experience was incredibly smooth....Read More
