My experience of Ravenshaw

The college has its official website in which interested students can apply and after the college publishes the merit list the students being selected have to go to university with all their documents for their admission.

I have a lot of interest in the feild of commerce that's why l chose BCom. The faculty here are excellent with a fantastic teaching style, the faculties here are well qualified. We being in Ravenshaw are very fortunate since we are given the chance of being taught by the professor-level faculties who have a broad vision towards the subjects they teach. The class in which I seat is having a strength of 90 and we are having 3 sections so our total strength of first-year becomes 270. Along with the mid-term and semister exams, class tests are also conducted on regular basis, twice a month.

After the completion of the 6th semister students become eligible for the campus selection. The students are provided an annual package of 3 lakhs to 5 lakhs according to their efficiency level. The companies like TATA, NALCO, GRIDCO ltd visit our college for the campus selection.

The cost to study here at Ravenshaw is minimal as compared to other universities. Our department does not charge any course fees it only charges the semister fee which is about 250 rupees only. The students at Ravenshaw are also provided scholarships in which the selected students can get about 10000 stipend per year and the hostelers can get an extra amount of 2000 rupees which becomes a sum of 12000 rupees for hostelers.

Apart from academic sessions, students are also given chances to participate in extracurricular activities like sports, dance, singing competitions, etc. Ravenshaw also gives chances to the students to participate in university-level sports meets.

In order to get admission to the hostel, the students have to apply for it while admission. The hostel selection includes several criteria like distance, category, and rank in the merit list. The meals provided in the hostels are excellent but sometimes it becomes a little odd since the meal is prepared for a lot of students at once. The rooms provided here are fabulous. We are provided 4 beds and 4 cupboards in a room.The hostel charges are also minimal which takes only 3000 per year for hostel re-admission. The Canteen fees are separated from the hostel charges.
