Remarks

The experience has been eventful and a mix bag. While the campus and the ambiance was amazing the travel was a bit far. The three years taught me a few things that I am using in today's time.

Entrance Preview

The entrance exam was a basic test to check for IQ and EQ levels. The scores weren't revealed yet the got through successfully. SIES has been famous for BMM and the kind of exposure it provides and hence chose to be a part of this college. Besides I was already an SIE Site so that goes without saying this would be the college of my choice.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

It was a mix of practical as well as theory. The syllabus was balanced and the subjects saved way for learning and exploring beyond just books in the form of writing, documentary making, film screenings and industrial visits. The teachers were supportive and encouraged us through out.

Internships Opportunities

No internship support was available then as the course was new. Our batch was one of the few who also took the journalism fest to the next level. This helped us in our job search.

College Events

3

Media rush was an amazing event organised by the Journalism students. The event bought people from across city colleges to participate. Comparing for the event led way to make contacts and that has been helpful in the long run.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It was feasible then unaware of the current status. May be because it was just the initial few years the structure was reasonable and affordable for us.

Campus Life

3

Campus life was fun with the dogs and cows that walked around with us. The place was well planned and had a patch of green with it. This made me want to attend college regularly, more than anything else.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

It was good the food was vegetarian and was delicious. I guess it was the frankee that was the best not sure about now. May be I should pay a visit to try something new there.

Alumni/Alumna

None specifi as I am hardly in touch with any of them. Some of them have reached great heights and others on their way. The alumini does have a Facebook group where job postings can be done.

Exam Structure

Exam structure was academic and followed a specific timing. There was practicals as well as theory papers.

Faculty

3

The faculty was helpful. It did keep changing often yet they guided us well. Some professors were very good while others stuck to whatever was prescribed in the syllabus. However the assignments were interesting.

I will rate 6 out of 10 because the syllabus it has old information. The special aspect of the curriculum is about branding, strategy use to make strong brand in the market. The area for improvement in these curriculum is to provide student the proper software for technical or practical subjects. (like photoshop, indesign, etc.)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I want to be in the film industry. I want to become an actor. This course helps us to get aware of all the media industries. Be it films or television or even radio. Now, there are even more fields such as Public Relations and Event Management. There is an almost equal number of girls and boys. The faculty have industry experience and are well-spoken. They help us in each and every way possible. The use of presentations and modules is common. The learning process is fun and easy. The examinations are conducted in a semester pattern. There are a total of 6 semesters that are conducted on time. The syllabus covers a wide range of topics such as communication, films, photography, etc.

Placement Experience:

Form third year students become eligible for campus placement. Many reputed companies like times of India hindustan times visited our college and got various students selected based on their caliber. The average package here is a around 5-10 Lakh per annum. Only those students who are talented enough for any post get selected for particular job. I'm planning to do a internship in popular media House.
