Remarks

The application form can be found on the website. There is a minimum eligibility w.r.t. the marks scored in +2 (12th std.) No reservation benefits. Only accepts admissions on the basis of merit. The process is very seamless.

Course Curriculum Overview

The EEE in BITS is considered one of the best in the country. The faculty: student ratio is higher than average. Most of the the faculty holds masters + doctorate degrees. There were final exams in every semester apart from regular and mid term tests. The grading was done on the basis of class average (relative grading system).

Internships Opportunities

Excellent internship opportunities which are arranged by the campus in the form of PS 1 and PS2. These internships are arranged by the campus.Some of the firms even offer PPOs to the students. The projects depend on the company. The student is graded on the projects and the grade is awarded by the PS prof as well as the manager in the PS Station.

Placement Experience

The placements are the best in class with recruiters coming in from different parts of the country and different industries. Some examples (regular recruiters) include Zinnov, BCG, Microsoft, ZC associates, ST Microelectronics, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Nomura etc. Nearly 80-90% of the class gets placed. I opted for working for a company in Telecom sector after placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure at the time (2011) was approx INR 10,00,000 for the 4 year course. This has increased substantially over the years and is now around INR 20,00,000 for the 4 year course. There are merit scholarships and merit cum need based scholarships available.

Campus Life

Annual fests include Oasis (cultural fest, around October), Apogee (around Jan) and BOSM (around September). The campus has a huge library and online books/ journals subsciptions are available to students as well.

Hostel Facilities

Meal quality is excellent. There is attention given to hygiene and balanced diet. Hostels are affordable, but the rooms come with minimal amenities (cupboard, fan and a LAN connection). The students are allotted the hostels upon registration.

Placement Experience:

Placement are decent in my point of view as college manage to provide campus placement to every eligible students as company ask for your Overrall grade point of the student and apply their standard as 6.5 ogpa or without any backlog and take exam of aptitude and it is based on company policy they take group discussion and then personal interview and if it is software company then coding rounds also. Students in7th semester are ready for placement. In current scenario 6 companies have visited the campus and around 40-45 offers has been given to students. Here each company come with only one package and different job roles some company came with 5.5 lpa and some with 5 lpa and some with 7 lpa so maximum till now from college is 7 lpa and average till now of placed students is 5.5 lpa. 60 percent of students get placed in past years stastics. My plan is to go for higher education ie mtech from good institution.

Placement Experience:

Each year in seventh semester placement companies visit college for taking students. In mechanical engineering Vedanta and Secure meter come for taking students. The average placement of this college is seven to eight lakhs and highest placement is twenty two lakhs. The best part is the placement in core companies. The average placement CGPA REQUIRED FOR PLACEMENT IS SEVEN CGPA.

BITS Pilani- A relevant review of Pharmacy

I selected this college over other colleges due to its legacy, exposure and opportunities. The freedom to traverse through multiple domains and it's flexible academics. I had applied to almost all biotech, bio engineering related colleges to get into health sector domain. I did not get rejection from any of the colleges. The admission process of my college includes an eligibility test, BITSAT, the scores of which determine admission into thsi college. I had appeared for the test in PCB subjects instead of PCM. I chose BITS Pilani over other colleges due to its academic flexibilitym vibrant culture, zero reservation and merit based admission process. I had confirmed admissions from other colleges such as DTU but I opted for BITS primarily because of it Practice School program and the autonomy it offers in shaping your academic journey.
