My Seven Months Experience in Rayagada Autonomous College

The admission process this year was very easy and smooth due to the online mode of form fill up and online mode of college selection. This year first I have paid my application form fees of 175 rupees. Then fill out the comm application form and I am got selected for this college. I had paid the admission fees before the scheduled admission date. This year the cut off marks for B.Sc. Physics students are 70%. I had paid the mess fees through online mode to the SAMS which are 7113 rupees,4000 rupees for course fees and 3000 rupees for semester examination fees per year. Then I get admission to this college. Yes, I get the benefits of reservation as an SC student. The admission process this year was very easy in comparison to the previous year.

For getting a degree in B.Sc. we have to study in this college for 3 years. We have to pass the six-semester examination. In our BSc physics course, there are four papers per semester, two from Hons subjects and one is Generic Elective and the fourth one is AECC. I choose this course because this course is very interesting to me. I love physics subject. This subject gives us the knowledge of this universe from small electrons to an unidentified universe. I have also aim of being a physics lecturer in future. In the college, there are not sufficient teachers needed for the students. The student's strength is high but the teacher's strength is very low. The qualification of the faculties of this college are some teachers completed PhD, MA, BA, BSc, etc in their respective Hons subject. The teaching method of some teachers are very good but others have less teaching experience. The terms exams were held timely. It's nothing harder to pass the exam.

The total fees to the college are 7113 rupees this year of which 4000 rupees for course fees and 3000 rupees are for semester examination fees. The cost is very high for a poor student who comes from a lower class or middle class family. Many students have not joined this college due to high-cost study this year. So we have requested the authorized members of this college to lower the college fees so that all students get the same facility for studying for their higher education. There are many types of scholarships were provided to the students such as Post Matri Scholarship,e Medhabruti Scholarship etc. But there is a rule that a student is eligible to apply for only one scholarship per year. The scholarship for students staying outside the hostel is 6000 rupees per year.

I am not satisfied with the campus life at this college. It is very conjunctive. The strength of students is very high but there were very less classrooms, labs and sports fields on this college campus. There is only one library in this college in which books were not available for major students. We were not provided any journals frlm our library. There is volleyball court ,kho kho filed and kabadi ground is here for playing. Our college conduct some sports activities for selecting the students who were good in sports. Recently we celebrated Basant Mahotsav in the college.Different types of competitions, programmes, and games were conducted . It runs for 10 days inside the college. All stundents were enjoyed this program. The Winners were rewarded with money and prizes.
