Life at GLA, -from a passout to be student????

I was really worried about getting a good college, when i came to know about GLA University, i quicly decided to give it a shot and get admission there, i was attracted by the placements and student satisfaction. I went through the admission process which was really smooth, people at desk are always there to help. I applied for an online exam which was conducted at an exam center in my city, exam fees and application was an online process(very easy process). I gave the exam and after a day or two i got my result and was passed. I had my brother joined GLA as well, so really i have no complaints.

I opted for B.Tech in computer scienece with specialization in Data Science offered by IBM in GLA, which is an extra step towards learning as it focuses on data analysis which is booming now-a-days and have great job offers. Faculties are really supportive they help you in any problems if its solely related to studies or anything else that you need guidance for. Every faculty member is highly qulaified in their respective feilds and are not less than a P.hd or a Masters degree holder. The mid terms are conducted once a semester followed then by final semester exams, they are conducted as per the given schedule and have a moderate level of difficulty.

The top comapines are amazon which offered nearly 30lacs/yr, vmware which offers 19lac/year, microsoft to offer around 11lacs/yr. Wipro, accenture, capegemini, gemini solutions, myAnatomy, etc are some other companies to visit the campus every year. The average package offered is around 6-7lacs/yr. Interships are offered as well apart from full time. Students can do interships on their own in the vacations so that they stand against the crowd. Projects are given every year as a part of your course which helps students to learn and find or work on something new and interesting.

The students become eligible for sitting in placement drives from 6th semester onwards. Top compaines to offer placement are amazon, vmware, wipro, accenture, capegemini, etc. The profiles offered mostly for CS students are Software developers, full stack developers, data analysts, cyber security trainees, etc. The university has a more than 90% of placement percentage every year. I am currently working in a company and was placed in early 6th semester, My plan is to continue with my IT job.

The fees is alright considering it is a private university. The fees for B.Tech(CS) is around 1,80,000 and is hiked by some percent every year. There are various scholarship offered to students according to their 12th result and JEE score. It also continues to provide some considerant deduction in fees if the student manages to get 8.5 CPI or above every year. Apart from these, college allows you to opt for governmental scholarships to encourage financially weak students that helps them to reduce their financial burdens.

Campus life is quite good at GLA. Although girls are not allowed to step out in the campus after 6pm. There are various clubs in feilds like sports, tech, art, etc for promoting creativity and interests of students. So that to encourage them grow their personaltites apart from studies. Varuous clubs at GLA are started by students only which help other students to develop and enhance their skills. The annual fest that is conducted is called SPANDAN. Includes various cultural programs and games. There is a vast collection of books, jouranls, novels, etc in the library which is always open for students, faculties. Library is really nice and the stuff is available online as well. E-cell, DATUM, poetry club etc are some clubs that are run by students

I opted for girls hostel inside the campus. A seperate hostel is kept for only first year students to make sure there is no case of ragging and it is strictly prohibited and a punishable offense in GLA. In hostels we were provided mess facility, internet, light, beds, table, chair and almira. Mess food quality wise is fine most of the time, menu is decided by the students only who are elected as mess commitee. Registration of hostel happens online and there are 4 hostels for girls which many rooms, availibility is not an issue but it is always recommended to book hostel as soon as possible.
