Remarks
The college didn't take any admission or entrance tests this year. So the selection process was completely based on class 12 marks. The whole admission process was online. You have to log in to the official website of the college and fill out the form. After submission of the ids and mark sheets, the procedure gets complete. The college publishes the merit list on the scheduled date. There are reservations for sc, st and obc-a,b. As per the government notice, this year the application was completely free.
Course Curriculum Overview
There are sufficient teachers for each department in this college. The faculty student ratio is properly balanced here. The humanities department and faculties are slightly better than the science depts. The faculties are very friendly and highly educated. Some of the professors have PhD degrees and there are also some new professors who are currently undergoing their PhD. The college is affiliated with the University of Calcutta.
Fees and Financial Aid
As a government college, the fees are really low here. Students have to pay a minimal amount of money at the time of admission. There are no hidden charges in the college (or they are really low). The college does provide some extra benefits for the financially poor students but the numbers are really low. Besides that, you can apply for almost any government scholarships like SVCSM, OASIS etc and also private scholarships, the college permits you the freedom here.
Campus Life
The college hosts annual sports and cultural fest every year. Additionally, the college brings guest lectures and hosts high quality and valuable seminars. There are two libraries in the college, there is almost every book but the quantity is very less. Not every student can get a book at the same time. There are some political clubs here that are run by students and ex-students. There are also smart classrooms and an auditorium in the college.
