Remarks
The good part is that campus has grown to 6-7 times is previous 2 years. The bad thing is that to accommodate and fill in huge campus so as to make the college profitable, management is enrolling every student without even considering their GAT exam marks. A person who secured worst marks in GAT or even who didnt write it can also join at same fees and in any branch of his choice.
Entrance Preview
I secured around 2100 rank in GAT(Gitam Admission Test). I chose Computer Science because I had a hands on knowledge of Programming and this would make the course easier plus I had keep interest in computers.So i opted for it. I chose Gitam because it was a private university and it has more vale compared to other affiliated colleges.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course Curriculum was good earlier. But it was theoretical but not ptactical. Practical applications is not been taught. Interest of faculties depends even on students. With the influx of students ten times more than previous years, the quality of students have also reduced so as the quality of faculty teaching them.
Internships Opportunities
Placement opportunities are good. Tech Mahindra, Mu Vision, Deloiye were few of the many companies that came.Amazon even came but just walked away without selecting any student.
Placement Experience
I have heard that almost 86% people who applied for job got placed in various companies. The highest package was of 14.8L given by Amazon in 2015 year passout students to a CSE department student.
College Events
The college here takes a huge stand with many technical fests which has many workshops like android app workshop, ornithopter workshop, 3d printing workshop to name a few. While the cultural fests includes celebration of ethnic day and huge fest parties which had the Performance by Sunburn and Hard Candies.
Alumni/Alumna
I particularly like thes alumni network. Their is very little ragging compared to other colleges. A great communication and interaction is their between students and seniors facilitating and mutually benefitting both.
