Remarks

The college management was docile and had one philosophy. Die and let Die.

Entrance Preview

There were no entrance exams for this course. The admissions were based on the scores obtained in school final exams.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course was tough. The sylabbus was exhaustive. There were some new subjects like linear programming and operations research added on to the curriculum from 1982 which is the first batch of BD university.

Internships Opportunities

Nothing of that sort was ever there. All these modern phenomena did not exist in 1980's. Now, one must say that it did not deter students in any way. It was challenging to go company after company seeking a job and such hard earned jobs were satisfying.

Placement Experience

0.5

No placements we had to reach out to companies and get ourselves gainfully employes. Competition in the job market was severe in the 80's. This was before the IT revoluyion in India.

College Events

0.5

Nacofest was as annual cultural event. This was short for National College Festival. One another festival called 'Muthamizh Vizha' was also celebrated from 1983 onwards.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Very inexpensive. Our parents who educated us felt it was very expensive as they compared it with free government schools of our days, they had to only spend on books and notebooks.

Fees and Financial Aid

There were scholarships only for SC/ST candidates and since I belonged to the so called forward community I could not avail of any.

Campus Life

1.5

Robotics-one had never heard off. Extra curricular -The various activities like stone throwing, smashing bulbs, during the strike in campus. There were a few more which cannot be reproduced here.

Hostel Facilities

0.5

The hostel-Less said the better. Food-what is that nevertheless these indeed developed our sense of tolerance and also made us adapt all kinds of alien food and culture during our later employment days.

Alumni/Alumna

There indeed is alumni network which convenes meetings in the campus every year in the month of February. Second Saturday I guess. I have never attended one till date but hope to attend one before I die.

Exam Structure

No. Life was not hectic for students as it is now. We had a relaxed schedule. We had strikes for 100 days every year which made our annual holidays work out to 200.

Faculty

4

The professors were extremely talented and dedicated. Most were from a old school of thought but their tireless efforts to educate the young is indeed laudable.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I enjoyed physics and maths as a school student so chose BSc course including the studies of all three- Physics, Chemistry and Maths. The modern physics part and the practical aspect of mathematics intrigued me. Though the curriculum of maths wasn't that comprehensive and was majorly all theory based. Maths syllabus can be enhanced by practical applications of examples rather than just be all about the theorems. The teaching method was good. The frequency of maths exam was 3 per semester, with three full books syllabus to be covered for each exam with mostly theory.

Course Curriculum Overview:

If i talk about my couse then i study in bsc (medical) which is a good course, we studies botany, zoology, chemistry, physics also we are nep student so we study more subject. By studying bsc we came to know my real life experiment like knowing about species, real life incidents etc. I suggest my teaching staff that they have to focus more in practical classes not on theory classes because students are more interested in them.
