Review on Ravenshaw University

No, there was no entrance exam required for Undergraduate courses like BBA, BCom, etc. Entrance exam is only needed for PG courses. I am 1st year BBA student of Ravenshaw University, Batch (2021-2024) and we had no entrance test. Admission process was quite easy. You just have to apply a form for this college on the official website of Ravenshaw and if you're eligible, i.e. if you score above the cut off marks provided by the university, then your name will be shortlisted. There will be three lists of names that would be declared one after the other and if the candidate is willing to take admission then he/she has to come to the campus for admission on the given dates mentioned in the website. Application fees is 500 bucks and dates will be alloted in the website itself. And yes, there will be reservation benefits too. You'll get many quota seats.

I wanted to pursue MBA as I want to be a HR manager and BBA was the best UG course to pursue before MBA. And for management, Ravenshaw university has the best teachers. In 1st semester of 1st year there are 5 subjects :- SBD, CA, FMOB, CA, EVS and A subject related to women issues. Air conditioned classrooms provide a great relief to the students as the climate in cuttack is really hectic. The teachers are also very cooperative and are always available for doubt clearance. The professors here are highly qualified and have a lot of experience in this field. They even teach to the PG students. Presentations and encouragement is always initiated by the teachers. They prepare you not just to pass the exams but also to excel in further job interviews and entrepreneurship. They try their level best to make every lecture interesting and they have no language barrier. In the course of BBA of 3 years there are total 6 exams consisting of 3 mid sems of 20 marks and 3 sem exam of 80 marks each.

Presentations and projects are carried out by the professors mostly and they provide each and every details regarding the tasks to be performed by the students who are interested in internships.After that companies conduct seminars to help the students know about their jobs and tasks to be performed with the stipend amount somewhat 4000 bucks per month approx. Then if the candidates are willing to do internships and are able to maintain there work life balance then they may enroll themselves to company and follow the procedure as provided. SBI, BOI, Infosys, etc. are the companies that provide internships with a subtle stipend.

After 5th and 6th semester, students become eligible for placements. After UG courses, many banks such as SBI, BOI offers placements to the youth. As far I know, highest package offered after 3 years of UG course was 6 LPA. And the average salary is somewhat 3.5-4 LPA. Mostly 70% students who apply for campus placements get job oppurtunites. After completing my BBA at ravenshaw I'll probably do MBA and maybe from Ravenshaw itself. Also, there are seminars conducted by the companies at the campus so that the students get a brief idea about the company and its work, job, etc.

BBA is a self financing course and the cost to acquire this course of three years is approximately Rs. 35,000 each (excluding application fees). If you ever compare private colleges to Ravenshaw university, you'll know that a candidate can get exactly same facilities and education at a lower cost at Ravenshaw University. My sister just passed third year Bba exams and she's successfully enrolled into a job company. She got the job via campus selection. Yes, scholarships are provided to the students who have got a high percentage in 12th exams and there parents' salary is less than 1,00,000. Normally, its quite affordable for anyone to enroll in this university.

Campus life is really amazing. Environment is so beautiful that there are thousands of trees all around. There are many fields too in the university. Cuttack's biggest library is in Ravenshaw ,i.e, Kanika Library with the availability of many journals and books. The classrooms are spacious too. 132 students are divided into two sections. Ac and wifi is available in each classroom. There are separate sports clubs, cultural clubs, NCC etc. Other than studies you can also follow your passion by joining these groups. There is no website run by students. Whatsapp groups are made and whosoever is interested to join the group can tap on the link provided by the seniors in the unofficial whatsapp group. There are many fests conducted in the campus maintain the social life balance. Aadya 2.O was one of the awesome event that was conducted recently in the month of march 2022.
