NIT RAIPUR-A GOOD CHOICE

For any IIT/NIT, you have to appear for JEE Mains and Advanced. For NITs you have to clear JEE Mains exam and further Advanced for IITs. If you scored above 96%ile then you are on the safe side (for all categories) to get core branches in NITs. For CS/IT and ECE(core but more cut-off) branches you have to score at least 98%ile for general students, for home state, the cutoff depends on the colleges. But for the general case, i.e. if you are not in the HS quota and you belong to the general category, you have to score at least 97.5+ %ile to get into CS/IT or ECE branch.

Well, I got ECE in NIT Raipur not because I wanted to but because of my rank. But now I am happy because in our college we are given comparatively fewer assignments than the other NITs and some IITs. This is a very good practice because we get a lot of time to explore new things like coding, music, and dance. Our faculties are quite friendly, they don't pressurize us to do any kind of work. They teach us well and provide all the materials needed. The faculty: student ratio is quite decent. We are not outnumbered. Exams are not so frequent, except in this pandemic situation. In one semester we have the mid-term exam and an end-sem examination with viva-voce and practicals. Only at the time of end-sem, there is a situation of a little bit of stress which is common in all colleges.

Adobe, Microsoft, Google, Deutsche Bank, Geeks for geeks, etc. You have to be that talented to get an internship in any company. So focus on your coding skills, and also soft skills like interaction with others that will help you a lot.

Placements are decent, no need to worry if you are in CS/IT/ECE/EE branches, just focus on your coding skills then no matter in which branch you are in, you will get your placement. In 2021, the highest package was 2 Crore per annum by Meta(Facebook), and students are placed in Google, Amazon, and Microsoft.

The normal cost to study will be around 7-7.5 lac in NIT Raipur, but for those students whose family annual income is between 1 to 5 lac, it will cost you around 4 lac only and for those having below 1 lac per annum, the fee will not be more than 2 lac for all 4 years. (Fees are mentioned including hostel fees). But if you want more relaxation in fees then you can apply for an education loan in banks. Banks provide scholar loan schemes for students admitted in IITs/NITs/IIITs/IIMs. Then, you don't have to pay any fees and if you have paid any you will get refunded. Since it is a loan so you have to repay it, the benefit is that your parents don't need to pay for it. You get a good placement and repay your loan. For scholarships, there are many options like the one provided by state governments, NSP Scholarship, FEE Scholarship, Dr. KK Sugandhi Scholarship, and a lot more. In NIT Raipur, tech fest includes Code Utsava, we have an annual fest, Eclectika in which Bollywood singers come and perform in the concert. That is one of the best experiences of our college. We have all kinds of books in our library, and if you want some more you can request that. The classrooms are well-managed, overall you won't face any problems. All kinds of sports are played with all facilities provided. Clubs include Turing Club of Programmers NITRR, Nrityam, Innovation Cell, Finance Club, Entrepreneurship cell, Literati Club, Raaga, Go Green Club, Click Club for photography, Sahyog Club for placement and counseling help. We enjoy ourselves a lot in our college with our studies too.

Home state students have less chance to get hostels in the first year. After 1st year, for hostels, you have to score a decent score because we don't have enough hostels here for all the students. But if you are from another state, then don't worry you will get a hostel. Hostel and mess facilities are really good, you will get internet connection in hostels and mess too. PGs are also available all around the college.
