Remarks
For admission we have to give JEE MAIN exam whose application is released online 1-2 months before the exams whose fees was ?650 per shift of the examination. We can appear for one or even more than one shifts. The seats are reserved in college on different basis like Home State/ Other State , caste like for Gen/Gen-Ews/Obc-Ncl/OBC/SC/ST/PWD etc.
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose this course ( B.TECH in Electronics and Communication Engineering) as I liked this branch. It is considered to be an evergreen branch because it is a combination of Core Subjects plus some of the non- core (CSE) subjects like C++, DSA( Data Structure and Algorithms) , Computer System Architecture (CSA) etc.
Internships Opportunities
NIT RAIPUR is ahead of several other NITs in campus placements and internships. Many companies starts coming to offer internships from the end of 2 year or 4th semester and the selection process is carried on in 5th semester. Companies like Adobe, Amazon, Reliance, Samsung etc visit the campus for hiring interns.
Placement Experience
Placements of NIT RAIPUR is its strength. It has decent placements and has an edge over several other NITs. This year around 75% students got placed with an average package of 10.20 lpa. The highest CTC was offered in IT branch of 57.5 lpa while highest package offered to CSE and ECE was 55 lpa. Even the core have decent offers like for Electrical average package was about 9.7 lpa , for MME it was around 9.3 lpa, for Civil 8.6 and so on.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee Structure of this college is well defined and well structured for all categories of students based upon their annual income of family. If anyone anyone has annual income less than 1 lakh, he/she gets full remission of tuition fees and they have to pay around 13k per year while the students who fall under the category of income 1-5 lakh get 2/3rd remission of tuition fees + other fees and for above 5 lakh no remission of fees is offered. The tuition fees of this college is about ?125000 per year.
Campus Life
ECLECTIKA is one of the largest cultural fests conducted in central India by NIT RAIPUR. Some others fests conducted here are AAVARTAN, SAMAR, SHRUTI etc. The Library is well equipped and has almost all sort of books related to academics. SHAURYA club is responsible for conducting sports related activities in the campus. There are more clubs such as TCP(Turing Club of Programmers), Hack Club, Nrityam, Raaga, Abhinay etc.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility is the weak point of this college. We don't have enough hostels to accommodate all the students of the college. We just have a total of 8 hostels in which 5 are for boys and 3 of them are for girls. In the first year we get hostels on the basis of our JEE rank and distance from the college. Other state students have an edge of getting hostels over home state students.
