Remarks
The campus is big enough for any major events. Has good but not the best faculties.The college too have a good attendance that the campus will always looked populated.They have a good lab facilities both in Computer and Mechanical regions.
Entrance Preview
I joined MGR Deemed University after completing my Diploma in Tool and Die making so there was no such entrance exams. I opted MGR Deemed University because they were one of the University who offered Evening college. I was working at Caterpillar and completed by B Tech Mech with this offer.
Course Curriculum Overview
I had totally 7 semesters.The core subjects were Machine design, Strength of Material, Kinematics, Electronics and Communication, Engineering Design, Thermodynamics.
Placement Experience
Placement is not bad. But my batch mates are all in job already so we couldnt really testify that.But for regular students there is placement cell team and helping them with readiness for interview and job opportunities.
College Events
All department students performed their cultural and sports events. Inter college sports meetInter college Cultural meetInter college Volley ball tournamentInter college basket ball tournament.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The details I mention is during 2004 - 2008 year.We pay a annual semester fee of ~25, 000 INR. We also get Examination fee of 1500 INR Fine for shortage of attendance.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes. Few of my friends got loan offer from SBI Bank. They were asked to submit quote and the fees will be paid by installments. There was also minimum criteria of min. average scoring requirement consistently to avail this benefit.
Campus Life
The Gender ratio is 50/50. We see equal number of boy and girls in the campus at any point of time.Since I have not stayed at hostel, I am not quite sure about the hostel parties but through friends I understand they enjoy at hostel with enough number of party events. Cultural and Sports are given good importance so they participate in any inter college meets.
Alumni/Alumna
We didnt have much change to meeting the senior students since we were doing our evening college.But there is Alumni and effective. They meet often and make major decisions.
Exam Structure
Enough Holiday is given between each exams. The exam dates are pre announced so no short time prepared ness. We as Evening college students were able to apply our exam leaves ahead of time and plan accordingly.
Faculty
Faculty for Evening College students were not very much experience during my days. Few of the faculties were very fresh out of college and we sometime has instance to teach them the right way of few subjects.
