Remarks
The admission process was way too smooth. They just need the money. Even if you had just passed, they'll gladly take you in. You can find the application form on their official website, or you can go there and fill out the application. They take around 500-1000 for the application form.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Psychology because it's quite interesting. The faculty keeps on changing, so we didn't really form any deeper bonds with them. Currently, for the psychology department, we've around 6 faculties. Half of them are PhD graduates and the other half are master's graduates. The teaching methods depend from person to person, we don't really get knowledge apart from the books. Term exams are never on time. They're so unsure about the timetable. It's so poorly managed. It depends upon the students, if they study thoroughly then they're ought to pass. The only thing I liked about the course in ADTU is that we have internships from 1st semester itself, so it's good to build up our resume and get experience.
Placement Experience
The average packages are around 1.2L-2L. the highest package I've come across was 4Lacs per annum. I'm not quite sure about the percentage of students getting placed. But from a bachelor's of psychology, it's none. I'm thinking of doing a master's first, thus I didn't applied in any jobs offers.
Fees and Financial Aid
For the first two years, we had to pay around 30,000 per semester and for the last year, we had to pay 40k. Although, they've increased the fees to 40k per semester now. It's quite costly, compared to the resources available. They do give scholarships, where if you pay all the semester fees at once, you get some amount of discount. And if you ranked first in your semester, then they give 10k. Here, many companies come to the campus job fair, but it's mostly for the management department.
Campus Life
We have an annual fest called "Attitude", where various performers come from all over the world. It's usually held in an Amphitheater, where most of the students don't even fit in. Their planning of the university is quite poor. It was supposed to be a hospital but it made it into a university. They don't have any books on psychology in the library, so our faculties took the initiative to open a small library in the psychology lab. Only a few classes have projectors and a whiteboard. Most of the classes go with the traditional blackboard and chalks. Sports are not given any priority and no information about clubs is given until the very end, and every club is run by teachers. So if a student wants to open a club, we can't even do that. We don't have any social groups or clubs or websites which are run by students. Our college does keep many competitions to increase the engagement of the students for extra curriculum activities.
