Great college with scope for growth and overall development

For admission into any of the B.Tech courses offered at NIT Warangal, candidates need to clear Joint Entrance Examination(JEE) and get a good percentile as required by the institute. The cut-off score is different for different courses. A minimum of 98 percentile for general category students would be required. However, for admission into circuit branches, 99 percentile or above would be considered safe. After the examination, there will be JoSAA counselling for selecting a college and branch of your choice where you can opt for NIT Warangal if you clear the cut off required.

The course curriculum for chemical engineering specifically is very well structured. Moreover, Chemical engineering provides a diverse set of opportunities to explore which is why I chose this course. The course curriculum is designed keeping recent industry trends in mind. The faculty for the course are all PhD holders and well experienced in their domain. The teaching method is a hybrid that is a mix of digital and conventional classroom teaching. Most of these faculty are also industry mentors and provide guidance to students. Talking about exams, we've 2 Minors/Assignments, 1 Mid-semester and 1 End Semester exam for one semester. The professors also take surprise tests and seminar presentations to test the mettle and overall understanding of the subject of students.

NIT Warangal brand name provides ample opportunities for students during internship season. In the year 2022 alone, more than 450 students have received internship offers from various companies with stipends ranging from INR 20,000 to INR 60,000 per month. Additionally, interested students can also do internships under any professor or associate professor during summer or winter vacations. Perks of doing such internships include a letter of recommendation along with getting mentored by experienced professors in the domain of your choice.

Placements at our college are relatively very good considering it's a college of National eminence. Every year more than 150 companies come to take students. Companies such as DeShaw, Goldman Sachs, Amazon, Microsoft, Uber, Visa, SAP Labs, Directi, Oracle, Qualcomm, Citrix, and MasterCard are a few of the prominent ones visiting campus. We have a dedicated Placement cell to assist and train students for placements. According to media reports, a total of 1016 students have been placed in 2022. The highest and average packages offered this year were reported to be INR 62.5 LPA and INR 14.5 LPA respectively.

The fee structure varies as per the income category of students. Students whose parents' income falls under the above 5 lakh category need to pay the full tution fee, 1-5 lakhs category students has to pay only one-fourth of tution fee and no tution fee for those belonging to below one lakh category. Talking about scholarships, at NIT Warangal we've Institute Merit Scholarship for which criteria is High CGPA after the first semester, MHRD scholarship for which criteria is JEE mains rank less than 2000, National Scholarship for which usually all students are eligible, DASA scholarship for DASA students, special scholarships for SC/ST/PwD students among many others.

Campus life at college can be considered great. College offers many amazing facilities to students like Central Library, Sports ground, Diverse clubs for students' interests and so on. Our annual fest is known to be one of the biggest cultural fests in India for which prominent celebrities from the music and film industry are invited every year. Most of our college clubs are run by students and help in developing organizational skills like communication and team management for its members. Classroom amenities are decent.

Hostel facilities are decent for those who can adjust to new environments. However laundry and cleaning services need special attention and need to be improved especially for Ladies' hostels. Basic facilities like Bed, fan, lights and a study table will be provided in every room. Additional necessities should be taken care of by students themselves. There's a dispensary and one doctor available at all times to cater to students' needs. Mess food again is not top-notch but decent enough to satisfy students from all parts of the nation.
