Remarks
The Admission process to get into NIT Raipur is through JOSSA. One has to clear JEE Main with percentile as per the required courses available here. After JOSSA when a student has been allowed NITRR, they have to go through the further procedure which is given on the college's official website.
Course Curriculum Overview
I got Biomedical Engineering at NIT Raipur. My class strength is 72 out of which 14 are girls, the gender ratio is quite as per the engineering colleges. The faculties are very appreciable, they nicely make students confident about the branch like biomedical which is rare and unknown to many of us, and develops interest among the students.
Internships Opportunities
The college gives various breaks and encourages students to internships. The professors guide a lot about the internship opportunities. There are various companies such as Amazon, Adobe, etc which come to campus to offer internships.
Placement Experience
The placement scenario is great for the circuital branches like CSE, IT, ECE, and EE. For core branches also there are various companies which come to the campus for recruitment. In my branch, which is Biomedical Engineering, the placement is average as most of the students go for higher studies.
Fees and Financial Aid
The total fees for general category students are 5 lac 20k for the complete course. The other category students and the economically weaker section have great fee assistance. During the time of admission, they have to pay the complete fees which are as per category but eventually due to various scholarships provided by the government, some of the fees get refunded.
Campus Life
The campus is not that big but sufficient enough for a good evening walk. There are a lot of fests like Elecktica (cultural fest), Aavartan (tech fest), Shruti (musical night), and shaurya (sports fest), etc which are good enough to make anyone feel refreshed after the long and hectic classes.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels are not enough to accommodate every student. Students in the first year get hostels based on their jee main percentile and also their distance from the college. From the second year onwards hostel is allowed based on the CPI. Those who don't get a hostel generally live in PGs which are near to the college. One has not to worry about PGs as there are a lot of them near the college. The Hostel mess is food is pretty good. There are 4 meals a day. The food is tasty.
