Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

A career in this course combines two of my most important fascination: Creativity and Adventure. I think it's a very rewarding career opportunity where I would get to do something new every day. So, I chose to pursue this course. The course curriculum is great here, covering all the important areas. We are also given practical training for us to have a hands-on experience in the field. Outdoor assignments, industry training, seminars, and workshops accompany our course which enhances our learning experience. The faculty-student ratio is 1:10 All the faculty members are highly qualified and experienced in their field. They are always there to support us and help us in every possible way. Their excellent guidance helps us thrive in our field. Regular exams are conducted here which aren't too hard to pass if we understand every topic and study properly.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

For our course, we are offered internships at companies like Aajkal, Mirror Now, ETV Bharat, The Statesman, Times of India, Zee News, and many other reputed companies. The internship provides us with a great experience of working in this field and prepares us for our careers ahead. They also offer us a good stipend which is an added advantage.

Placement Experience

4.5

We start getting placement and internship opportunities from our final semester. For our course, we get internship opportunities from our first year itself with reputed organizations like Aajkal, Statesman, Zee News, Mirror Now, ETV Bharat, Times of India, and many more. The stipend received ranges from 20K to 25K. Over 200 companies visit the campus to offer placement. The top recruiters are Hoichoi, SVF, HP, Amazon, Wipro, TCS, etc. More than 95% of students get placed every year. The average package ranges from 6LPA to 8LPA, depending on the company and the performance of the students. I got various internship opportunities that offered me a handsome stipend. Many of my seniors were offered international placement too. I plan to get placed at a reputed company too after securing my degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

I found the course fees quite reasonable, owing to the facilities that come along with it. The fees are taken semester-wise and includes exam fees, library fees, study materials, uniform, etc. Scholarship opportunities are also available to meritorious students. There is a facility for students' credit cards too. Plus, the stipend received from various internships also helps cover an amount of the fees.

Campus Life

4.5

The Campus is huge and beautiful and has a friendly environment. Different events are celebrated here like Independence Day, Saraswati Puja, Holi, Rabindra Jayanti, and many more. We also celebrate annual sports day and annual fest in the month of February, on the birthday of Sister Nivedita. Almost all the important books, journals, magazines,s, and other study materials are available in the library. We have a cultural club here for activities like dance, music, photography, drama, etc. We also have a community radio and SNU Press. The SNU Post is run by us. We have a great time at the campus while also learning a lot of different things.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I feel the theory part of our curriculum isn't much relevant or prepares for real - world applications, only some basic information is what I feel is necessary, although the lab and the practical part prepares us for real - world applications and teaches us a lot of things related to photography, news paper page building, survey report, etc. I believe they should have a better approach and teach more relevant real - world or in demand market skills which'll help the students in the future. Exams are conducted 2 times in a year, once between March - april, and second time between August - September.

Course Curriculum Overview:

From my childhood, I'm into music and this course allows me to further widen my knowledge of the entertainment industry, films, Television and etc. So this course will allow me to understand how media and journalism world works, and help me pursue the art that I love. The timings could be better of the college, but rather than that everything is mostly good. The frequency in my opinion, should be reduced to 3 main semester exams, and to have small mid semester exams throughout. That's my perspective.

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. I opted for this course because I thought it would have a good practical work, with good exposure and experience. But this course has nothing as such. The documentary we did was done all by ourselves. College did not help at all. There was a photo journalsm option in one paper but our college did not let us study that. They did not teach anything about photography, no practical training was given. 2. None. The curriculum doesn't prepare us for the real world at all. There is no professional study or activities. No preparation for interviews or real world jobs. Only theoretical and advices from our faculty. College doesn't provide any activity that can help us for the real world job. 3. More and more practical work with the help of college. More exposure needed. High quality software and equipments are needed. Students need a GOOD professional lab. More exciting activities for students. Placement opportunities, internships etc. 4. BAD. Per sem arrives in 2.5 months, too short time

Course Curriculum Overview:

Journalism is one of my favorite sudject . One of the reasons for choosing this subject is that only a journalist can highlight the good and bad aspects of our society before the people. The scope of the subject is journalism but it is huge. We can learn not only journalism but also photography, radio, film studies etc. The behaviors of all the professors in the journalism department in this college is very well. They very carefully explain all the topics thoroughly to the students so that the students do not have to face any difficulty with those topics later. Every year two semesters are taken every six months if the students do all the classes carefully and study well then they can easily pass by getting good marks
