Remarks

I had applied to city college, Jaipuria college, city college of commerce, and Southcity college. I hadn't applied to any quota or reservation. A Candidate must pass with at least 70% in 12th with commerce stream. The process was a bit lengthy and I was called on the 3rd counselling day, according to the merit list after that process took 2days more.

I was a commerce background student so I choose it. Faculty:- 22 Teachers including HOD Faculty were most assistant professors and senior professors with at least 5 years of experience. Exams were conducted twice in college before the final exam and students had to follow classes and attend practicals to get good marks.

Class Size: 450Course Fees: INR 2167 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Very Nominal for General and other candidates (Rs 2167 + Rs 2345 + Rs 2560) + University Exam fees Scholarships were there and financial aid was also provided. Personally, teachers help those who are financially weak.

Campus Life

The annual fest was organised every year and the budget was around Rs 10lakhs. There was a program for freshers and a farewell for students. Classrooms were mostly like old buildings of north Calcutta but the labs were modern. Cricket, Football activities were regular and college used to participate in Intercollege competitions. Yes, there are many groups over the internet and offline.

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

I did chose this course to learn more about accounting and finance and the cirriculum prepares you perfectly for the real world. SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.

A college with all the facilities.

I applied in 5 colleges;Seth Anandram Jaipuriya, Goenka, Surendranath, Lalbaba and City college in which I am currently studying. I got confirmation from lalbaba and City college. Those nice college days

I had applied in many colleges and also got selected there but I chose city college for it's friendly atmosphere and supportive seniors. In order to eligible for pass course you need minimum 60percent for not put yourself in waiting list. If you score below this then there are chances that your name will be not in the first list.
