Admissions are taken mainly through GUJCET exam, apart from that Btech admissions are also through the all India quota through jee mains. All the application details for GUJCET can be checked on the official website. There is a quota for defense personals apart from the general, obc, sc, st, ews. The admission process is up to the mark.

BE Mechanical from bvm college is famous in Gujarat and is in the top 5 list in the state. There are enough faculties available in the branch and many of them have completed there masters from iits, apart from that a book for thermodynamics that is used in many colleges written by professors 'jp hadiya and hg katariya' has its origin here that is both the professors are faculty here. The faculties are well experienced and have a good knowledge not only about there fields but also about teaching methods. Although some faculties still are in exception. There will be two mid terms exams of which average is taken and then the semester ending exams, apart from that vivas and assignments are also included in he course. To pass is not too hard for and average student here.

The students become eligible for placements from the 7th semester although a few students get pre placement offers in 6th semester itself but that number is rare. Major companies like lnt, mg motors, linde torrent, reliance and many other small companies have visited the campus for placement this year. The placements although in mechanical branch remain average at highest being 7 lpa and average being 3.6 lpa. Overall the placement percentage is near 73% however in core branches it goes lesser. Nearly 55% in mechanical in 2020. After getting the degree students here opt for higher courses, placements, and abroad studies. For higher and abroad studies they need to clear gate and ielts etc. I myself am looking forward to peruse MTech in future.

So the fees for government seat is near 11000 per year while its about 1.5 lakhs for the self financed ones. Apart from that the hostel fees varies from 16000 to near about 75000 per year. The upper limit can vary as new hostels with more facilities have been built in recent years. There are scholarships for ews students and others also. The office management for financial support is quiet average here.

The annual fest here named Udaan is a three day event that happens in April month is one of the most attractive thing throughout the year. Apart from that several other events are regularly organized in the campus that keep the students busy even in enjoying the college life. Books and journal availability in the library can be said 9 on 10. The classrooms as of now are renovated recently and are good. Sports and other extracurricular activities in the campus are average. There no ground of the college so sports are held in the nearby garden named shastra Maidan which belongs to CVM. There are several clubs formed for the benefit of students like the literature club, sports club, decoration management team, technical club etc.

At the latest the college has a newly built hostel with its own mess, tt table, play area, rooms with attached bathrooms, and all the basically needed facilities. Rooms have bed, mattress, pillow, chair table and cupboards. Meal quality is average in the hostel mess but there are a lots of messes in the nearby area with decent prices and good food. After admission one has to register for the hostel in the desks available in the hostel itself. There is no issue of affordability as the price ranges from 16000 to 75-80000 as per the facilities provided. Overall hostels are good although the old ones are average.
