Karnataka Common Entrance Test(CET), Rank: 1300. This was best option at my Rank and it was Govt aided college.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course structure was by VTU university to which it was affiliated. There were electives from 5th Year. The electives selection was also limited by lectures present for those subjects. Curriculum was good as we had projects in every semester since 5th Sem.
Internships Opportunities
No internships were supported by colleges. However, college was not aganist if some had received internship in company and was using that for final year project.
Placement Experience
Before my batch the placements were not pushed by college. For our batch, we had new placement office, who was active and brought in more that 4 companies for placements. Companies which visited which i can remember were Infosys, Sasken, Sonanta, MGL. Approx 50-60 students were placed.
College Events
We had mainly college fest which was yearly. The college fest involved a lot of extra curricular activities and group computer games were also arranged. Fest was an Big Bang event. We could have had even some technical events/fests, it could be more learning and engaging.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The college was aided hence we mainly had only government fees. It was approx Rs.10,000/- for every year excluding exam fees. Exam fees and other fees was approximately Rs. 3000/- per year. Fees was not expensive as seat was from Govt Quota.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college was providing almost full scholarship for SC/ST students. The scholarship was 95% of tuition fees and even library access was more liberal.
Admission
Admission was though Govt CET. CET called for seat selection counselling based on ranks. The current available seats in colleges were listed and i selected the Dr.AIT for computer science.
Faculty
Only a handful of faculties were very good and had sound knowledge. Many faculties were not much knowledgable in subject. Research orientation was not much there. Subject knowledge was not through needed for learning the subject and executing projects. No major support from faculty for projects.
