Remarks

The admission process was easy, no entrance exam was conducted. Allotment of seats was based on merit and the cut-off is nearly around 78%. Information regarding admission procedures is all available on the college website... every student has their profile on the site. As it is govt college reservation benefits like scholarships and stationary etc are available for those who fall under the criteria. It is one of the oldest colleges in India (130 years old)....and the no. 1 science college in MP. Many great leaders and celebrities have graduated from this college. The college is surrounded by breathtaking greenery and has its unique infrastructure which makes it an amazing experience for everyone. Classrooms are laced with smartboards and panels and labs are well equipped with instruments and resources. Professors here are very talented and experienced...always ready to provide their knowledge and guidance whenever needed. Still, much improvement can be done by taking the entrance exam.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Biotechnology is an emerging field in the science stream and the course curriculum does justice to that. It provides overall coverage of the topics and related fields along with their implementation in real life. Lesser number of students are admitted for masters in biotechnology as it deals with practicals and wet lab work....and for this to happen faculty should be able to focus on their students. Almost all faculties here are Ph.D., net, gate qualified here with experience exceeding from 5-15 years...all of them have their ways and teaching methods they use to shape up the career of the students. Exams were held on time always (except during COVID) and they were neither too easy nor too difficult to clear just moderate.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Internship opportunities are available for students during their final semesters. It can be done from any company or institutes but maximum only 1-month duration is allowed and if you want to extend the period of your internship you will have to juggle it with your course study and will have to attend the college regularly..... because the college is very strict regarding rules.

Placement Experience

2.5

Placements are provided but it depends on subject streams and availability including many other factors. But yes if you have honestly completed your studies and well equipped with knowledge and technology you will be able to explore n number of opportunities like you can opt further for a doctrate degree or research on trending topics or you could land youself job in companies & even MNCs. One can also clear exams like Net JRF, Gate, DBT, ICMR, ICAR etc to get stipend while doing research or pursuing doctrate.

Fees and Financial Aid

As it is a research-oriented subject of life science it includes lab work and fees are 32000 rupees per year. Apart from this exam fees per semester are also required. It is much easier for localities but for outsiders, you have to pay for your food and accommodation.... making it much costlier. Although if you come under the reserved category or are either from EWS or a physically disabled person various govt schemes (and facilities like scholarships, housing rent, boys hostel, etc) do provide financial assistance to students.

Campus Life

3.5

Annual year programs are conducted every year around January and February. Apart from these annual program many other activities like sports festival, competition like dance, singing, debate, poems, painting, dramas etc are also enjoyed by students and faculty. Many rallys and nukkad natak are carried out for social awareness. Workshops, seminars and international conferences are also regularly conducted. Library is spacious and loaded with all sorts of books and ebooks easily available for everyone.
