Akal College Of Pharmacy And Technical Education, Mastuana Sahib is a well-known College in Sangrur and other regions. This college is part of Gurudwara Gursagar Mastuana Sahib which is a well-respected place in Punjab. Eligibility criteria for B. Pharmacy here are class 12 with science (medical or non-medical). One can easily find the application form from the office which is just near the entrance. Admission is open from June to August after the declaration of results by CBSE or other boards. Rs 5000 is charged as an admission fee. Students from all boards are allowed to take admitted to the college. If you have more than 80% in 12th, then congratulations you will be given a subsidy of Rs 7000 per semester. There are 15% reservation seats for students from other states. The admission process is quite easy and short. College doesn't waste your time on admission tests etc if you have a good grade in 12th and have a clean record. Just show some manners and answer the questions confidently.

I chose to do pharmacy because of my interest in medicines, human biology & drugs. There are nearly 60 -70 students per semester. The staff is very good and they care about students. Teachers don't just teach but also make us understand the value of the knowledge that we are getting every day. All teachers are experts in their field. Also, the none teaching staff and authority members are very nice. Talking about exams, each semester has 2 sessionals(internal exams) and 1 internal practical before the final practical. The class test depends on the teacher and students. If you study well enough it will not be hard to crack those exams.

In the last semester (8th semester), students are given internships and sent to different companies or jobs depending on their preferences and interest. There are given to provide students with experience and some real-life application of what they have learned in these past few years. The top recruiting companies of our college are Sun Pharma, Ranbaxy and Divya Pharmacy, etc with a packaging range from 60 thousand to 2 lakh. It also depends on your skills and knowledge. If you don't want to join a company you can go for the Drug Inspector exam and test ur knowledge and luck there.

Rs 30000 per semester is charged as a college fee which includes Rs 25000 tuition fee and Rs 5000 other fees. There are various scholarships that you can get which can be governmental and non-governmental scholarships. College offers a discount of Rs 7000 per semester if you have more than 80% marks in class 12. Unfortunately, there is no job offering at the college campus but you can work anywhere in the city there is no restriction to it unless you have health or other issues.

There are lots of fests conducted in the college. Some are organised by students and some are organised by the college. The main fest includes Fresher's Party, Farewell Party, Annual Fest, Pharmacy Week Celebration, Sports & Health week celebration, Local Events celebration, National Events Celebration, Cultural Events Celebration, Seminars, etc. The official website of the college - acptemastuana.com contains the information about college and its campus.

College have its hostel one for boys & one for girls. Both are located inside the campus of Akal Group Of Colleges. Annual fee for hostel is Rs 14000 only for room rent & you have to pay extra for food which is to be decided by students whether he/she wants to eat in hostel mess because the campus is located near 4-5 gurudwaras which offer free meal all the time. So it completely depends on student whether he/she needs a mess or not. Mess has different meals for different times which means 3 different meals a day at Rs 1800 per month. The cos structure of mess is Rs 900 per month for 1-time meal, Rs 1500 per month for 2-time meal & Rs 1800 per month for 3-time meal. Food prepared in mess is very delicious. The room comes with 2 fans, 1 air cooler, 2 tube lights, 4 wardrobes(divided between students staying in room), etc. On 2 sides of the Hostel, each side has 7 Washroom, 7 batbathrooms5 urinals, which are hygienic & cleaned regularly. Else you can rent a room or PG in near City.

Your marks in 12 play important role in deciding whether you will undergo a test procedure or not. If getting more than 80% then you will just have to undergo an interview. In which they ask a few questions about your interest, the reason for choosing pharmacy, future goals, hobbies, a few study-related questions, personality, common sense and quick thinking based questions. Don't worry they are not too tough. Just use your brain. If you have less than 80% marks in 12 then you have to undergo Admission Test and Group Discussion, which decide your entry into college. The admission test is based on the 11 & 12 syllabus (35%-65%) it is not too deep and not hard just an overview of subjects and their studies. But what matters the most is good school records like attendance, character, extra curriculum score, etc. If you are good in that area, then you are sure to pass.
