Overall review of IGEC Sagar.

To get the admission in this college you have three choices- Appear in national level engineering exam called JEE MAINS. After the results are announced you have to apply for counseling on MP DTE portal. The counseling fee is about 1500. If you are from general category and had scored around 60 percentile in JEE MAINS then there's a good chance for you to get admission in this college. And for the SC/ST caste the data can be less(approx. 45 percentile). Through board exam result. But for that you must be the topper. By topper I mean you must have scored at least 85+ percentage in boards though it's not a big deal in today's generation competition. Through CLC round. In CLC round the vacant seats after above two processes are filled. It totally depends upon the number of vacant seats.

The main reasons I chose this college is that it's not too far from my home, the tuition fee and the living expenses is not too much, Sagar is a good place to live etc. The faculty is average if we compare it with other colleges in MP(IITS and NITS excluded), although all other branches faculty is good except IT branch. Most of the faculty is guest as per my knowledge, since it's a government college therefore every guest faculty have PHD in there respective fields. The syllabus and exams is according to the brochure described by RGPV University Bhopal. There's a proper time released and college runs according to that. The exams are pretty easy if we compare to other universities.

Talking honestly our college doesn't have good reputation in placement area. If I give you a rough data around 30-40 percent students gets placed through on campus placement. And the average salary offered is around 2-3 lpa. But some big companies also visits the college like TCS, WIPRO, CONGRUENT etc. This year highest package was offered by TCS around 4 lpa to a girl. It's not good for placement but if want to prepare for gate or any other exams it's a best place. The last but not least if you have potential you can get a job very easily from here because the competition is not so much here. Hope you understood.

The fees and other expenses are not a problem here I guess. The tuition fees of college is about 25000 per year, if you took hostel than 24000 per year for food and 6000 for accommodation. But if you are OBC/SC/ST you will get 100 percent scholarship(family income must me less than 300000 lpa). The scholarship is given by chief minister of Madhya Pradesh.

In our college every year tech fest is organized, if you have skills you can take parts in various occasions. Our college has a library but you can only get to issue books from here, you can't sit and study there it's prohibited. Classrooms are okay, not so good in condition ( for 1st years) although it's good for other year students. There's not so many clubs in college but there are few. Example- Next level club, Chess club, Alpha club etc. There are so many pages and channels run by students of our college.
